STATEMENT OF WORK
RETROFIT HANGER DOORS
PAINT BOOTH IN BLDG 59S
09 AUGUST 2012
1.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The contractor shall retrofit (by motorizing) the existing hanger doors in building 59S so that each set of hangar doors is able to fully open and fully close.
1.1 Contractor will correct any defective items relating to the installation at no additional cost to the government prior to acceptance.
1.2 All electrical equipment must be Underwriters Laboratories tested.
1.3 The Class I Div I items shall be rated for groups C & D. (NEC 2011 Art.
500)
2.0 INSTALLATION & SHIPPING
2.1 Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, parts, and supplies necessary to perform the following:
2.1.1 The contractor shall provide the most current factory on-site installation/retrofitting of hanger doors in building 59S.
2.1.2 The contractor shall install the motorized retrofit of hangar doors.
2.1.3 The technician shall install and test to ensure optimization of retrofit.
2.1.4 All materials furnished by the contractor shall be new and in good condition.
2.1.5 All electrical installations shall be bound by the NEC 2011.
2.2 Contractor shall coordinate the installation dates with the government Point of Contact (POC) identified in this contract.

2.3 Contractor shall meet with necessary user and applicable facility and electrical personnel, post award meeting, within 15 business days after the contract award to ensure minimum disruption of normal operations during installation.
2.4 Contractor shall provide all equipment and manpower required for complete installation.
2.5 Contractor shall assume full product liability for damage throughout installation. The contractor assumes full liability for damage until completion of the installation and acceptance by the government contract monitor.
2.6 Contractor is responsible for receiving and properly storing off-site, all materials incorporated in the installation.
2.7 Working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday with the exception of federal government holidays and work curtailment days.
The contractor shall submit written exception requests 5 business days in advance to the Government POC.
3.0 MATERIALS The Contractor shall use the make and model of all items shown on the drawing (Appendix A, Drawing X201010403) as the design basis. Proposed substitutions to the listed make and model shall be submitted to the Government
POC for approval prior to installation.
3.1 The contractor shall supply and integrate the new Class I Div I 480VAC motor(s) controls for each set of movable hangar doors.
3.2 The contractor shall supply and integrate the new Nema 4X enclosure with a pressured Open/Close Push Button(s), i.e. the door stops moving when the button is released, and Key Lock (see Appendix A). This enclosure shall be able to control all of the four hangar doors. The Nema 4X enclosure controls shall be designed so that the inner set of hangar doors must be closed fully before the outer set of hangar doors began to close. Also it shall be designed so that the outer set of hangar doors must be fully opened before the inner set of hangar doors began to open.
3.3 The contractor shall supply and integrate the new Class I Div I enclosure with a pressured Open/Close Push Button(s), i.e. the door stops moving when the button is released (see Appendix A). This enclosure shall be able to control all of the four hangar doors. The Class I Div I enclosure controls shall be designed so that the outer set of hangar doors must be closed fully before the inner set of hangar doors began to close. Also it shall be designed so that the inner set of hangar doors must be fully opened before the outer set of hangar doors began to open.
3.4 The contractor shall provide and install safety features on the movable hangar doors to prevent personnel/equipment from being injured/damaged.
These safety features shall be bound by AFI91-203(Section 24.14).
3.5 The contractor shall supply/provide new electrical and equipment documentations (manufacturer’s specification sheets) at the acceptance of the work performed.
3.6 The contractor shall be responsible for removal and disposal of unnecessary wiring/cabling and any other miscellaneous items for this installation.
3.7 The contractor shall supply a full one year warranty on all supplied parts and labor. The warranty shall start on the date of Government acceptance.
4.0 UTILITIES
4.1 Utilities. The government shall provide all necessary utilities. All power utilities shall be placed within 20 ft of the NEMA 4X & Class I Div I enclosures.
4.2 Safety Requirements:
4.2.1 The contractor shall comply with safety provisions, i.e., technical specifications, technical publications, Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and other nationally or locally recognized sources of safety, health, and fire prevention standards and practices. The contractor will be responsible for the safety and accountability of all their personnel and the Government facilities/property and are subject to enforcement authority by federal and state safety and health officials. The AF is not responsible for ensuring that contractors comply with "personal" safety requirements that do not present the potential to damage
Government resources (e.g., hearing protection, safety shoes, AF
IMT 55, etc.). The contractor shall provide all personal protective equipment (i.e., hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, etc.).
4.2.2 Safety Mishaps/Incidents. The contractor shall notify the 402
MXW Safety Office telephonically at (478)-926-1708 during duty hours and (478)-926-3567 after hours, within four (4) hour after initial notification of any mishaps or incidents for damage to DoD property entrusted by this contract and employee injuries as a result of the contract operation.
4.3 Base Access. Base Access shall be discussed during the post award meeting with the necessary personnel so that the contractor may access the work site.
4.4 Recycling. The contractor generating waste recyclable materials shall comply with the Base Quality Recycling Program (QRP) and shall be responsible for the following:
4.4.1 Segregating all recyclable items and place them in the appropriate recycling containers located around the Base.
4.4.2 Ensuring food waste is not discarded with recyclable materials as this contaminates the recyclable items.
The contractor shall immediately and properly dispose of any refuse or trash generated in the performance of this SOW such as rags, brushes, paper trash, drink cans, etc.
5.0 ACCEPTANCE OF INSTALLATION
5.1 The inspection/acceptance of the installation shall be by government contract monitor and acceptance shall be upon satisfactory demonstration of the installation to government contract monitor. Demonstration and acceptance does not relieve the contractor from providing any other portion of this statement of work.
