Revision 1 (Addendum) Page 1 of 2

21 May 2015

BIDDER RFI RESPONSES

FOR

PROJECT UHHZ 120179

CONSTRUCT ADDITION TO B651

Responses to bidder RFIs for the above project are as follows:

1. Will the seismic design criteria indicated on sheet S-101 of Project UHHZ 080356

Building 651 be acceptable for use in the analysis and design of the building addition?

Govt. Response: The original project was constructed 5+ yrs ago and the criteria may no longer be valid. The seismic design criteria will be the current criteria required by the

UFCs and IBC (your design A-E will verify requirements).

2. We respectfully ask that the bid due date be postponed to May 29 due to the holiday and

D/B projects take a little more time to estimate as basic drawings need to be produced for competitive estimate?

Govt. Response: The date will be extended to May 29, same time.

3. Are the insulation requirements for the addition the same as the existing building?

Govt. Response: The insulation requirements are identified in Section 01020, 7.2.3.

4. Can the Government provide flow test from the nearest Fire Hydrant for preliminary design and job costing?

Govt. Response: Yes, see attached.

5. Will a project sign be required with job information and if so, will a rendering of the addition be required?

Govt. Response: No to both questions.

6. Will a UL certification be required for the lightning protection? Or will a UL letter of acceptance be acceptable?
