Questions and Answers
A10 Windshield Canopy Bow
Questions:
1. When is the anticipated award date?
2. Is the Requirement to not drill the four attach point holes (As shown in Section D-D of Drawing 160D117102) and to ship the four bushings with the bows. Please clarify if this requirement (not drilling the holes) is to be part of the bridge contract as well.
3. On the drawing on note 11 it states there are 3D Models for these parts. Are those models available to us?
4. The EDL included reference to document 201308306 (on page 2 of 2).
Generally, are all the notes in the document applicable to this solicitation?
Specifically, Note 10 asks for 1/4" excess trim around the entire perimeter of part. Is the intent of that note to change the material dimensions on the drawings?
Answers:
1. Estimated award date is 9 July 2018.
2. Correct, the 4 attach point holes shown in Section D-D of Drawing 160D117102 are to not be drilled and the required bushings are to be shipped with each bow.
3. The 3D Models referenced by note 11 are available. They are listed on the EDL, REV 11 dated 22 May 2018 that was posted on FBO 25 May 2018. The models are 160D117102-21 REV M and 160D117102C-19 REV P.
4. In regards to document 201308306, all the notes on that document are not applicable to this solicitation. The only notes that are applicable are the ones listed in the "Remarks" column of the EDL. This is referenced on page 2 of the EDL in the "Standard Engineering Text" box where it states "THE ENGINEERING NOTES ARE ON AIR
FORCE DRAWING 201308306, CAGE CODE 98747. THE APPLICABLE NOTES
FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF THIS ITEM ARE CALLED OUT IN THE
REMARKS SECTION OF THE ENGINEERING DATA LIST (EDL) FOR 201308306."
Thus, Note 10 is not applicable to this solicitation and there is no intent to change the material dimensions on the drawings for the A-10 Windshield Bow. Note 10 is a note specific to sheet-metal and composite panels that require perimeter trim to be removed upon installation to ensure an exact fit.
