About this file

This document appears to be a set of vendor questions and answers related to the FA812624Q0052 contract opportunity for the removal of a 54-inch Vertical Turret Lathe at Tinker Air Force Base. Key details include:

This is a new requirement for the government. The U.S. Government is tax exempt, and no tax exemption documents will be provided. The downloaded representations and certifications from SAM.gov will be used, so vendors must ensure they are complete and current. Only the prime contractor, not subcontractors, is required to be under $19 million in annual revenue. The government plans to load the truck the same day the lathe is removed, pending any issues with the trucking company. Operating hours will be extended if necessary to allow the contractor to complete the work. The government will negotiate payment for any increased costs due to government-caused delays at the gates. The lathe cannot be partially disassembled and will be shipped as-is.

Questions from the site inspection

Is this a new requirement?

Yes, this is a new requirement.

Will the government be tax exempt? If so, what documents will be provided?

The U. S. Govt. is tax exempt, and documents will not be provided.

Will the downloaded Reps /Certs (FAR/DFAR) from SAM replace any portion of the contract?

No, but required information will be used, so it should be complete and current.

Is the subcontractor also required to be under $19 million annually or just the prime contractor?

Just the prime contractor is required to be under $19 million annually.

Trucking Schedule: Will the trucking take place on the same day, or is it expected to span multiple days? I want to ensure there is ample time allocated to avoid additional costs from multiple trips or drivers waiting for entry.

The plan is to load the truck the same day pending any issues with the trucking company.

Operating Hours: If the operating hours are from 6 AM to 2 PM, what happens if a driver is not finished with their job within this timeframe? Will they need to leave everything and return the next day, or is it possible to extend the operating hours to allow them to complete their tasks?

Operating hours will be extended, if possible.

Gate Delays: I want to account for any potential gate delays. In the event of delays caused by government procedures, will there be additional costs for extended services?

Payment for increased cost due government procedures will be negotiated if necessary.

Will the pan the lathe resides in be removed before the contractor moves the lathe?

Workorders will be submitted to assist with the removal of the pan. Contractor will have to lift the lathe in order for the pan to be removed.

Will the truck be loaded the day the lathe is removed from the building?

The truck will be loaded the day the lathe is removed, pending any trucking issues.

Will everything around the lathe be removed to facilitate access to the lathe?

Equipment will be moved ahead of time, as needed.

Will the lathe be partially disassembled to ensure vertical and horizontal clearance?

Lathe will be shipped as is. It cannot be disassembled any further.

Where is the lathe going, what path will be used, and what door will be the exit?

Either of the 2 doors on the North end of B3001 may be utilized, but if access is not available, access on the West end of B3001 may be utilized.
