Mobile Solid-State Frequency Converters

Two (2 ea) Mobile Solid-State Frequency Converters

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Power Specs

Converter shall be UL 1012 listed.

Converter shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-704F and SAE ARP5015.

Converter must be rated at 90kVA with an input of 480V, 3 phase, 60Hz and an output of 115/200V, 3 phase, 400Hz.

Input power cable, from power source to converter, must be single jacket construction with three conductors and one ground at 100ft long with Appleton ACP1034CD plug or equivalent.

Output power cable, from converter to aircraft, shall be MS90328-30 banded configuration in accordance with SAE AS90328. MS25486 plug shall be equipped with replaceable nose and contacts.

Converter shall have automatic line drop compensation to maintain the output voltage at the aircraft receptacle.

Mobility

Each converter must be mounted on a mobile trailer.

Trailer must have a hinged tow bar compatible with a pintle-hook hitch.

Trailer must have racks attached to store input and output power cables; one for the input cable and one for the output cable. Racks shall be constructed to safely store and support the weight of the cables and prevent damage due to cable interference with tires and all other moving components while towing the trailer.

Trailer must be capable of prolonged 15mph tow speeds on paved ramp areas.

Trailer shall be transported by using material handling vehicles, such as warehouse tugs, forklifts and pickup trucks, from storage locations to locations on the ramp or in the building where the unit will be used.

Trailer must be designed for easy set-up and transport and be equipped with an adjustable parking brake.

Trailer shall be designed for easy set-up and transport.

Trailer shall be equipped with solid, non-pneumatic tires designed for ground support equipment (GSE) that have an outside diameter of 16in or greater. Tires must have a multiple stage construction designed for increased ride quality. Tires must have a ribbed tread pattern.

Combined weight of trailer and converter shall be 1,500 pounds or less.

Environment

Contractor shall provide a cover or other method of protection to limit paint and chemical buildup on the converter. Cover will be used during paint/depaint processes and removed during converter use. Cover must be easily installed and removed by one person.

Converter components shall be contained within a NEMA 3R enclosure.

All components shall operate from no load to rated full load in ambient temperatures between 32 and 104 deg F and relative humidity between 0 and 95 percent noncondensing.

Operation

Converter shall utilize the aircraft 28VDC E & F safety interlock system and provide an interlock bypass to use with aircraft that are not equipped with safety interlock.

Converter must have an operator interface that gives operator control of output on/off, safety interlock bypass on/off, output voltage trim adjustment from 0 to 10 percent or greater.

Converter operator interface must display input/output voltage, input/output current, input/output frequency, converter on/off status, output on/off status, percent of full load, converter operating hours, and diagnostic system faults.

Converter must have a diagnostic system that can detect, display, and alert the user of the following faults through the operator interface: input over/under voltage, internal unit fault, over-temperature, output over/under voltage, and output overload. Converter must have a fault history log that stores the most recent 500 faults or more. Fault history must be displayed through the operator interface.

Converter operator interface must have a push-button for emergency power off.

Converter shall have protection from input/output short circuit, input phase loss, over/under voltage, overcurrent, and over-temperature.

The specified equipment shall be delivered fully assembled with user manuals, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, control wiring diagrams, functional block diagrams, tools, assembly, and other necessary incidentals to provide complete turnkey equipment.
