STATEMENT OF WORK

For

Aerospace Adhesive Gap C19-062

PREPARED BY:

1. SCOPE

The 76th CMXG requires the purchase of a one-time gap contract for AF163-2K and 3M AF30_10mil structural adhesive. A Multi year contract is being worked and this is to provide coverage till the long term contract is put in place. This will be used to support scheduled workload as well as as a backup to the shops normally used stocked listed materials EA 9628.060 and the EA 9696.030 IAW BMS5-101 TY 2 call outs.

2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

d) BMS 5-42v QPL

3. REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Item Description – The 76th CMXG/553 CMMXS requires a one-time gap contract to supply rolls of AF 163-2K and AF30_10mil structural adhesive.

Requirements for this adhesive shall include the following:

3.1.1. Forty six (46) rolls yearly of 250 DEGREE ADHESIVE FILM 3M AF 163-2K

a) Rolls shall be 3M AF 163-2K thirty six (36) inches Wide x fifty (50) Yards

b) Rolls shall be certified by batch to BMS 5-101 TY2 GR10

c) Rolls shall be shipped with Dry Ice and minimum two (2) Temperature recorders per box

d) Shipments shall include certificate of analysis to BMS 5-101 TY2 GR10

e) Shipments shall include Shelf life and Date of Manufacture

f) Shipments shall include copy of current SDS

g) Shipments shall be half (twenty three (23)) at time of award (Manufacturing time acceptable) with remaining twenty three (23) rolls to be shipped six (6) months later.

3.1.2. Fifty four (54) rolls yearly of 3M AF30_10mil Structural Adhesive

a) Rolls shall be twenty (20) inches wide X seventy two (72) Yards long

b) Rolls shall be certified by batch to must be certified to the BMS 5-42v, Type II, Grade A

c) Rolls shall be shipped with Dry Ice and at minimum two (2) Temperature recorders per box

d) Shipments shall include certificate of analysis to BMS 5-42v testing requirements.

e) Shipments shall include Shelf life and Date of Manufacture

f) Shipments shall include copy of current SDS

g) Shipments shall be half (twenty seven(27)) at time of award (Manufacturing time acceptable) with remaining twenty seven(54) rolls to be shipped six (6) months later.

3.2 Shipping – All shipping requirements shall be in accordance with BMS 5-101 section 10 (AF 163) and BMS 5-42v section 10 (AF 30).

3.2.1 BMS 5-101 Packaging, Marking, and Shipping

3.2.1.1 PACKAGING (BMS 5-101, section 10.1)

a) Packaging shall be accomplished in such a manner as to assure delivery of material capable of meeting the requirements of this specification. Each roll of Type II adhesive shall be sealed in a clean, defect–free bag. Defects are considered to be visually detectable discontinuities such as holes, cuts, tears, etc. which allow free passage of air, moisture or other contaminates. Bags shall either be a minimum of 0.006 inch polyethylene or a Boeing approved alternate.

b) (Not Applicable)

c) The exterior packaging shall be of such a nature as to prevent physical damage or contamination by foreign substances. Each package shall be suitably insulated and refrigerated, when necessary, to ensure maintenance of the shipping temperature requirements.

3.2.1.2 MARKING (BMS 5-101, section 10.2)

a) Both ends of the exterior (shipping) package shall be legibly and durably marked on the outside with the following information:

• BMS5–101 (including the latest revision letter), Type and Grade

• Supplier’s Name, Address, and Product Designation

• Supplier’s Batch Number

• Date of Manufacture

• Unit Number of Pour Coat Package or Adhesive Roll

• Quantity in the Shipment

• Quantity in the Package

• Handling and Refrigeration Requirements. (State temperature limitations both shipping and storage when refrigeration is required.)

• Name and address of distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary storage facility if applicable.

• Date of Shipment from the supplier, distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary storage facility if applicable, whichever occurs last (required on shipping package only)

• Purchase Order Number

b) Labeling shall conform to OSHA 1910.1200.

3.2.1.3 SHIPPING (BMS 5-101, section 10.3)

a) Ship and store all film adhesives and pour coat materials according to the requirements of Section BMS 5-101 5.2 (See SOW section 3.2.1.4).

b) Temperature recorders are required with each lot of film adhesive or pour coat to be shipped from the supplier’s manufacturing facility or from a supplier authorized distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary warehouse. Include sufficient temperature recorders with each lot shipped to ensure that all temperature excursions above the ranges noted in Section 5.2 and this Section are recorded.

c) The use and placement of temperature recorders shall be in accordance with

BSS7061.

d) A system for material out–time tracking and control shall be implemented and maintained at all supplier authorized distributors, re–packagers, and auxiliary warehouses. This system must be capable of recording all out–time consumed at each facility for each lot of adhesive or primer stored or shipped.

e) During shipment and handling at authorized distributors, re–packagers, or auxiliary storage facilities, the material is allowed to accumulate a total of 16 hours of exposure at temperatures in excess of the requirements in Section 5.2, but not exceeding 90 F.

3.2.1.4 STORAGE LIFE (BMS 5–101 Section 5.2)

a) BMS5–101, Type II adhesives shall retain their ability to meet the requirements of BMS 5-101 Section 5 for a minimum period of 1 year from the date of shipment provided:

1) The Type II adhesives remain in sealed containers or airtight wrappers except for one opening to obtain samples for Acceptance tests.

2) The Type II adhesive shall be stored at a temperature of 0 F or below.

3) The Type II adhesive shall be transported at a temperature of 0 F or below.

3.2.2 BMS 5-42v Packaging, Marking, and Shipping

3.2.2.1 PACKAGING (BMS 5–42v Section 10)

a) Type I primer shall be packaged in non–contaminating, airtight, approved DOT (Department of Transportation) containers, as specified in the purchase order or as specified by the supplier.

b) Each roll of Type II adhesive shall be protected by a sealed polyethylene film wrapper.

c) The exterior packaging shall be of such a nature as to prevent physical damage or contamination by foreign substances. Each package shall be suitably insulated and refrigerated, when necessary, to ensure maintenance of the shipping temperature requirements.

d) The amount of material in each roll may be adjusted to be compatible with the production cycle of the vendor, except that normal roll length shall be at least 20 yards with a minimum width of 20 inches, unless otherwise specified in the purchase order.

e) All labeling shall conform to OSHA 1910.1200.

3.2.2.2 MARKING (BMS 5–42v Section 10)

Legibly mark each shipping container of Type II film adhesive with the following information securely affixed to the container.

a. BMS5–42, (including the latest revision letter), Type, and Class

b. Supplier’s name, address, and product designation

c. Supplier’s batch number

d. Date of manufacture

e. Storage / shipment temperature

f. Quantity of primer or film adhesive units in this shipment

g. Name and address of supplier, distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary storage facility as applicable.

h. Date of Shipment from supplier, distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary storage facility, whichever occurred last.

i. Lot number assigned by supplier, distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary storage facility, whichever occurred last

3.2.2.3 SHIPPING (BMS 5–42v Section 10)

a) Ship and store Type II adhesives at temperatures below 40 F.

b) Not applicable

c) Temperature recorders are required with each lot of adhesive or primer to be shipped from the supplier’s manufacturing facility or from a supplier authorized distributor, re–packager, or auxiliary warehouse. Include sufficient temperature recorders with each lot shipped to ensure that all temperature excursions above the ranges noted in this Section are recorded.

d) The use and placement of temperature recorders shall be in accordance with BSS7061.

e) A system for material out–time tracking and control shall be implemented and maintained at all supplier authorized distributors, re–packagers, and auxiliary warehouses. This system must be capable of recording all out– time consumed at each facility for each lot of adhesive or primer stored or shipped.

f) During shipment and handling at authorized distributors, re–packagers, or auxiliary storage facilities, the material is allowed to accumulate a total of 16 hours of exposure at the following temperature; Type II adhesive, and above 55 F.

3.2.2.4 STORAGE LIFE (BMS 5–42v Section 5.3)

a) Type II Adhesive shall retain their ability to meet the requirements of BMS 5-42v Sections 5.1 and 5.2 for a period of 6 months from the date of shipment, provided the adhesives are maintained in sealed containers at temperatures below 40 F during shipment and while in storage at the purchaser’s facility.

3.2.3 Additional shipping requirements

a) All shipments shall have a minimum of two temperature recorders per box.

b) All shipments shall include copy of current Safety Data Sheet.

3.3 Training – NOT APPLICABLE
