Question 1: Can the Government provide photos of the existing paint booth and Air make-up Unit?

Answer 1: Yes, Please see attached photos.

Question 2: Since the Air Make-Up unit sits on the roof of BLDG 2121, how high off the ground is the roof? How many feet from the roof edge is the Air Make-Up unit located?

Answer 2: The roof is approximately 30.5 feet high (from the ground). The Make-Up Air Unit is about 44 ft. from the east edge of the roof.

Question 3: The Contractor is responsible to move dismantled paint booth and Air Make-up Unit, the Government is responsible for all paperwork to include disposal location?

Answer 3: Please refer to Section 5 - Disposition Instructions of the SOW.

Question 4: How many days after Contract Award must the work be completed? 63 calendar days or 9 weeks?

Answer 4: The total requirement must be completed in 9 weeks from the Contract Award date. However, per the Technical Evaluation Criteria located in the Solicitation the vendor is to supply a timeframe of completion for each task/CLIN, not to exceed the overall timeframe of 9 weeks.

Question 5: Can we work Saturdays?

Answer 5: No, per Section 2.8 of the SOW the Hours of Operations are Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Question 6: Page 10, PAR # 3.7 Security requirements, Will we be required to submit I-9 forms on each employee in addition to employee list?

Answer 6: All the requirements are listed in the SOW/Solicitation.

Question 7: How long does it take for approval before badges can be issued? This will affect completion times of the CLIN items. Will the government be flexible on completion dates?

Answer 7: Approval dates/durations are unknown. If there is a delay caused by the government, it will be addressed and appropriate measures taken, depending on the circumstance.

Question 8: Is the Air Make-Up System that is listed in the paperwork that you sent the one that will be used? We have never seen an air make up system like this one before. Stainless steel heat exchangers are no longer used in Air Make-up Systems. Also, scroll air conditioning compressors are not usually used in a paint booth system.

Answer 8: The new make-up air unit shall be equivalent or better than the existing make-up air unit with regards to performance. Parts and components of the system need to not exactly match the parts and components listed in the SOW. Contractor shall demonstrate that the performance of the proposed new make-up air unit is equivalent or better than the ideal performance of the existing unit.

Question 9: Is all gas piping on the roof to be replaced?

Answer 9: All gas pipes on the roof associated with the make-up air unit shall be replaced.

Question 10: Using the existing intake duct openings is routing the intake air across the ceiling, is this acceptable?

Answer 10: The supply duct may be routed to the paint booth through the ceiling.

Question 11: Will the Government consider Progress Payments or Installment Payments?

Answer 11: No, give the nature of this procurement, the Government will not consider progress or installment payments.

Question 12: On page 12 of 63 in the solicitation it asks for drawings to be submitted with the estimate or do we submit those after winning the award of the contract?

Answer 12: The drawings are to be submitted with your proposal. The drawings are part of the technical review as well as everything else listed in the Technical Evaluation Criteria.
