The following question was submitted:
1. On page 5 of 27 Electrical Requirements #4 requires Exterior Aircraft Obstruction lights states that LED lamps are not permitted. After doing some research we are finding that the new lights meeting the FAA L810 have all gone to LED. Does that Government have a Make and Model number that does not use a LED lamp?
Government Response: This is one example of a catalog item for the required exterior marking lights. The Air Force does not authorize the use of LED marking lights at this time.
