AUDIOVISUAL SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT
PART 1 – GENERAL
1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS
A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specifications Sections, apply to this Section.
B. This section is valid only when considered in total with all other Audio Video System Contract Documents. References are for the convenience of the reader and their inclusion in or omission from any section in no way limits its scope or intent of any Contract Document.
1.2 SUMMARY

2. Wing Honor Conference Room.

4. Seminar Rooms (Qty. 2).

B. System Summary:
1. The audio visual systems within these spaces are intended to provide the audio visual capabilities required for effective instruction, learning, collaboration and communication. The systems include the following.
a. Speech audio reinforcement.
b. Program audio presentations.
c. Video program presentations.
d. Computer presentations.
e. Interactive display.
f. Collaborative videoconferencing.
2. The Classrooms shall be supported by the local Equipment Room. Both spaces shall provide complete remote control over the AV equipment in the Classrooms.
3. The majority of the AV support equipment shall be in the local Equipment Room; cameras, microphones and displays shall be in the Classrooms.
4. The Breakout Rooms shall provide spaces for small groups to collaborate.

B. Section 27: Audio-Video Communications, 27 41 00 Integrated Audio-Video Systems General Requirements.
C. AV Contractor shall coordinate with Electrical Contractor on conduit/junction box locations for audio video equipment and routing of audio, video, control, and power cables/conduits from terminal and pull boxes to system equipment racks.
D. CAUTION: Use of this Section without including the above listed items will result in omission of basic requirements.
1.4 REFERENCES

1.8 EQUIPMENT COSTS
A. The tender shall include detailed lists of all equipment to be supplied with each piece of equipment individually priced. Equipment costs shall reflect all required modifications and accessories. The AV Contractor shall provide equipment totals from each equipment list in the Summary of Tender document.
1.9 NON-EQUIPMENT COSTS
A. Non-equipment costs shall be furnished separately on the Summary of Tender document.
1.10 WARRANTY (DEFECT LIABILITY PERIOD) STATEMENT
A. Provide in accordance with Section 27 41 00 Audio-Video Systems General Requirements.
1.11 SCHEDULE OF IMPLEMENTATION
A. Provide in accordance with Section 27 41 00 Audio-Video Systems General Requirements.
1.12 ALTERNATE EQUIPMENT
A. The AV Contractor may propose alternate equipment, however all such proposals shall be submitted separately and will be identified as "alternates" with equipment costs shown separate and apart from the costs of the equipment "as specified."
B. Proposals for alternate equipment will receive careful and equitable consideration if the differences do not depart from the overall intent of the design and operation of the system, and are in the best interests of the Government. All such proposals for alternate equipment shall be accompanied by full technical information, "cut-sheets”, EASE modeling (where appropriate), and specifications for the equipment so proposed. The AV Contractor shall identify the substantive differences between the alternate and the specified equipment in a written narrative. Products that do not meet the original design intent shall be rejected;
no exceptions.
1.13 EXCEPTIONS AND PROPOSED MODIFICATIONS
A. Should the AV Contractor have recommendations, which will enhance the performance of the system, or reduce costs without loss of performance; the Contractor shall provide those comments in the submission. All suggestions that are of value to the Government will be taken into consideration in the evaluation of the tender returns. All such proposals shall be made as "alternates", with the appropriate cost modifications shown separate and apart from the costs of the system "as specified."
B. Any and all exceptions to these specifications and related drawings must be made with the submission. In the absence of exceptions, these specifications and related drawings shall be binding in letter and intent on the successful AV Contractor. It will further be understood that the AV Contractor has examined the design and specifications in detail, and is prepared to take full responsibility for the performance of the complete installation as designed and specified.

1.14 AV CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES AND DOCUMENTATION
A. Provide in accordance with Section 27 41 00 Audio-Video Systems General Requirements.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 GENERAL
A. Supply the latest model, available at the time of submission, of each piece of equipment. The Contracting Officer may request, at their option, that the latest model of equipment, or new technology, available at the time of installation be provided. If a later model is requested, adjustments will be made to cover cost changes between the cost at bid submittal and the cost of the latest model at the time of installation.
B. Materials: Supply materials and equipment shall be new and shall meet or exceed the latest published specifications of the manufacturer.
C. Equipment shall operate on 120 to 240VAC at 60hz.
D. All programmed, software based microprocessor based control and DSP devices shall be powered by a UPS supply capable of providing a minimum of two
(2) hours backup.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 REFERENCES
A. The AV Contractor shall closely coordinate with the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative to ensure that Government provided equipment is procured, configured (as necessary), and installed (as necessary), with ample lead time prior to the AV Contractors use of the equipment.
