Attachment 2 – CCLD AV Systems and Equipment

Center for Character and Leadership Development (CCLD)

Audiovisual Systems and Equipment

PART 1 – GENERAL

1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS

Refer to “Attachment 1 – CCLD AV Systems General Requirements/Specifications” and “Attachment 3 –

CCLD AV Equipment List.”

1.2 SUMMARY

A. Applicable Locations:

1) Forum 159.

2) Wing Honor Conference Room.

3) Large Conference Room 204.

4) Seminar Rooms (Qty. 2).

5) Classrooms (Qty. 10).

6) Media Room.

7) Honor Div. 209.

8) CCTV Display Locations.

9) Supporting Spaces:

a. AV Room.

b. IDF (Comm) Closets.

B. System Summary:

1) The audio visual systems within these spaces are intended to provide the audio visual capabilities required for effective instruction, learning, collaboration and communication. The systems include the following.

a. Speech audio reinforcement.

b. Program audio presentations.

c. Video program presentations.

d. Computer presentations.

e. Interactive display.

f. Collaborative videoconferencing.

2) The Classrooms shall be supported by the local Equipment Room. Both spaces shall provide complete remote control over the AV equipment in the Classrooms.

3) The majority of the AV support equipment shall be in the local Equipment Room; cameras, microphones and displays shall be in the Classrooms.

1.3 RELATED SECTIONS

1.4 REFERENCES

A. Codes: Work shall be done according to applicable requirements of governing international, federal, state, county, municipal, and local codes, rules, and regulations. In addition, the work shall be in accordance with the latest revisions of all applicable standards and specifications of the following, whether statutory or not:

1) NAB – National Association of Broadcasters.

2) UL – Underwriters Laboratory.

3) EIA – Electronics Industries Association.

4) NEC – National Electrical Code (2005).

5) NESC – National Electric Safety Code (IEEE C2).

6) Federal, State, County, City and other local codes and requirements.

7) NFPA 70, NEC Latest edition, Article 300–22(c) UL2043 – National Electrical Code (2002).

8) NFPA 90A – Latest edition, Section 2–3.10.1(a), Exception 2.

9) Underwriters Laboratories (UL): UL1480 (UUMW) UL Control #7P97 Air Handling Spaces, ANSI/UL263.

B. Standards: Equipment and materials specified shall conform to the current edition of the following standards where applicable:

1) EIA Standard SE–101–A: Amplifiers for Sound Equipment.

2) EIA Standard SE–103: Speakers for Sound Equipment.

3) EIA Standard SE–104: Engineering Specifications for Amplifiers for Sound Equipment.

4) TIA/EIA 568–B – Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standard (Parts 1,2, & 3).

5) TIA/EIA 569–A – Commercial Building Standard for Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces.

6) TIA/EIA 569–A – Administration Standard for the Telecommunications Infrastructure of

Commercial Buildings.

7) J–STD–607–A – Commercial Building Grounding (Earth) and Bonding Requirements for

Telecommunications.

8) TIA/EIA 862 – Building Automation Systems Cabling Standard for Commercial Buildings.

9) OSHA – Standard 29 CFR 1910.268.

10) UL–Underwriters Laboratories.

11) ASTM–American Society for Testing Materials.

12) NEMA–National Electrical manufacturer’s Association.

13) ANSI–American National Standards Institute.

14) ETL–Electrical Testing Laboratories.

1.5 SYSTEMS DESCRIPTION

To Be Determined by Contractor proposed solution.

1.6 DEFINITIONS

See paragraph 1.5 of Attachment 1 – CCLD AV Systems General Requirements/Specifications.

1.8 ALTERNATE EQUIPMENT

A. The Contractor may propose “or equal” equipment, and must be identified as “equal.”

a. Proposed alternate equipment will receive careful and equitable consideration. Performance parameters must not depart from the overall intent of the design and operation of the system. All alternate equipment shall be accompanied by full technical aspects shall be adequately addressed in the technical capabilities documents. Any “or equal” items must include, in addition to the brand name, a general description of those salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics of the brand name item that an “equal” item must meet to be acceptable for award.

1.9 EXCEPTIONS AND PROPOSED MODIFICATIONS

A. Contractors must propose to the current system design; however, as mentioned above Contractors may propose alternate equipment solutions.

B. Any and all suggested corrections to these specifications and related drawings should be made prior to quote submission date. In the absence of corrections, these specifications and related drawings shall be binding in letter and intent on the Contractor receiving award. It is understood the Contractor has examined the design and specifications in detail, and is prepared to take full responsibility for the performance of the complete installation as designed and specified.

1.10 CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES AND DOCUMENTATION

Provide any documentation in accordance with Exhibit A – CDRLs, and Attachment 1 - AV Systems General

Requirements.

PART 2 – PRODUCTS

2.1 GENERAL

A. Equipment must be the latest model available (or replacement model if discontinued) at the time of quote submission.

B. Materials: Supply materials and equipment shall be new and meet or exceed the latest published specifications of the manufacturer.

C. Equipment shall operate on 120 to 240VAC at 60hz.

2.2 PRODUCT MODEL NUMBERS

Refer to Attachment 3 - Equipment Lists.

PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.1 REFERENCES

A. The Contractor shall closely coordinate with the Customer Representative to ensure Government provided equipment is procured, configured (as necessary), and installed (as necessary), with ample lead time prior to the

Contractors use of the equipment.
