Construct Drainage MEPS, Bldg 5411, FA6606-17-R-0014

Reponse to Request for Information

Question #1: Confirm the existing sprinkler system is neither under service contract, or warranty.

Response #1: Sprinklers are not under service contract or warranty.

Question #2: During the site visit, it was noted that the existing weep holes in the exterior brick wall were clogged with soils. The awarded contractor will be required to expose the weep holes when regarding the areas. Will the awarded contractor be required to clean out, and evacuate the weeps holes to ensure proper masonry drainage?

Response #2: The contractor is not required to clean out the weep holes once all soil has been removed from the facility unless existing unobstructed holes become clogged due to contractor actions.

Question #3: The plan provided does not show any ramp details within the new curb / sidewalk, which currently has one. Will the awarded contractor be required to include any ramps in the new sidewalk / curbs? If a ramp is needed, will it also require an ADA rumble strip?

Response #3: New ramps are not required with new sidewalks.

Question #4: As shown on the plans, the proposed curb line falls onto an existing man hole structure.

Will this structure need to be raised, or will the curb line be modified so it does not interfere with the existing man hole?

Response #4: Looking at the site, the curb line is just outside of the manhole cover. The cover will need to be brought to the grade of the new sidewalk.

Question #5: The parking area has reserved parking writing on the asphalt. Please confirm that when the spaces are removed, the awarded contractor will not be required to mark new reserved parking at alternate locations.

Response #5: Remarking of reserved spaces will not be required.

Question #6: Please confirm there are no existing operational issues with the lawn sprinkler system.

Response #6: Sprinklers are in operation and are maintained by installation plumbing shop.

Question #7: Please confirm that the only utility marking third party requiring notification is “Dig Safe”?

Response #7: Refer to the General Conditions of the contract package in regards to Dig Permits.
