QUESTION ASKED [Answering Party] Answer
1 9.4.20 2. SCOPE Must the work be performed during evening or nighttime hours? No
2 9.4.20 2. SCOPE Will Gov’t provided escorts be required during project work hours?
No
3 9.4.20 5. Details of installation
Will the project buildings be available for weekend scheduled work?
Yes
4 9.4.20 13.1 - 13.2 Comm. Squadron will provide and install 1 strand of SM FOC from Bld. 125 to 127, 108/109 to 127 or nearest ITN. IF existing strands of fiber are not available or will not test to industry standards, will the Gov’t install additional fiber cable? Will the Comm. Squadron preconfigure all required ITN jumpers and test the end-to-end the required fiber circuit between buildings we are working in and Bldg 127? Should we plan for any work in Bldg 127 other than delivering a media converter and testing?
No answer at this time.
6 9.4.20 Bld. 125, 108, 109
Is special permission required before walls can be penetrated for conduit installation?
Yes, depending on the walls
7 9.4.20 Bld. 125, 108, 109
Do any of the rooms for this project have raised floor systems in them?
No
8 9.7.20 13.1 & 13.2 For B125, please confirm that the new power circuit required for the security panel (in the utility room) will be government furnished. For B108/109, please confirm the same (the power panel is immediately adjacent to the proposed security panel). If we should price to furnish and install these circuits, can the government please confirm the availability of an unused panel space or breaker in each of the respective power panels?
It will not be government furnished since I don’t have a work task for this facility. The question is if this is replacing an existing IDS then there should already be a plug for it. Yes the government can confirm availability; but that will require a work task.
9 9.7.20 5.1.3 Please confirm that the duress repeater will be powered from an existing local receptacle using the AC Adapter (wall wart) that is included with the Inovonics repeater. The repeater is equipped with a 72-hour battery back-up, but it still requires a local power supply (AC Adapter into a local receptacle).
where are they putting it; this requires a work task for us to assess
10 9.7.20 4.10 Please specify a required type of conduit for connecting the security panel to security endpoints (BMS, PIR, duress receiver, etc.). Should we price to use rigid metallic conduit (more expensive) or EMT (less expensive).
UNK
11 9.7.20 Bldg 108/109
Can you please advise as to whether TC1 or TC2 is the main communications room with outside plant / fiber connectivity? In other words, which room should we plan to connect the new security panel to for connection to Bldg 127. TC1 is closer but it is within the SCIF boundary and unlikely to be the main communications room for the building.
No answer at this time.
12 9.8.20 5.1.4 & 5.1.5
The SOW paragraphs quantify a total of (2) wireless duress transmitters; however, the drawings seem to indicate a desire for
(5) transmitters. Please clarify the desired total quantity of duress transmitters.
