DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE

52D FIGHTER WING (USAFE)

7 September 2018

MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

FROM: 52 CONS/PKB

SUBJECT: Solicitation FA5606-18-Q-2037, Mobile Camera System

1. The following questions were received in regards to the subject solicitation:

a) Q: It states that the mobile camera system ships with a cellular connectivity plan. This is typically provided by the end user as you need to sign up with your local cellular service providers. Let me know if we can take an exception to this.

A: The government will have a contract with a Mobile carrier directly.

b) Q: Is solar power with batteries acceptable or does it need to be a fuel cell powered?

A: Fuel cell is required.

c) Q: In the combo at line item 0001 the camera is described as 35 mm prime lens camera.

In the specs, section 1, line 2, also a 35 mm camera is described. In the middle of section 1 under thermal capacity a zoom camera is listed (35-105 mm). What does the Government request? Prime lens or zoom camera?

A: The camera needs to have dual lens capabilities, a 35mm (normal view) and

35-105mm (Thermal Camera) Normal view is Prime Lens and Thermal is zoom lens... Basically it is two cameras in one housing unit.

d) Q: 64GB Storage card - This is the minimum capacity of storage. The minimum recording capacity shall be 25 days. This depends obviously on the amount of movement, the duration the camera detects the motion and records the movement.

A: We are requesting a minimum of 25 days with a maximum of 45 days.

e) Q: CCTV Towers needs to be mounted on trailers. Are the dimensions of the trailer fix?

A: The dimensions of the trailer are not fixed

f) At point 1 the specs state: Camera tower should rise to a minimum of 18 feet, which is 216”. What is the maximum?

A: 30 feet.

g) Q: In paragraph four, there seems to be a typo: 94”x116”x19, 6” deployed, what are the correct measurements.

A: This should be 19’ 6” (19 feet 6 inches).

h) Q: Is an additional video server within the trailer necessary?

A: Additional viewing capability within the trailer is not necessary. Commercial

WIFI/Cellular service is required to access the projected secure IP address. This mobile camera is a stand-alone system until the SF center approves its use on the AF network.

i) Q: Mobile Carrier contract: usually these contracts have to be closed between the

Government and the carrier directly. This has legal reasons. Will the government have a contract with a Mobile carrier directly?

A. Yes
