Ant Twr Platform

2-inch O.D. Fiberglass Pre-assembled Lightning Mast (14-ft long with 2-ft rod). Part Number:

Advanced Lightning Technology (ALT) Series NO. 490 Mast Assembly, Or Equal. Clamped to outside of tower platform using stainless steel clamps (ALT PNs 490-9, 490-91, & 490-92) which must be ordered separately .

Lightning down conductor down tower leg to site ground.

Attach to leg using stand-offs.

Connections to ground system to be exothermic weld.

Lightning Mast assembly will have a “pigtail” cable provided with it and will be exothermic welded to the contractor provided down conductor (soft #2 AWG, TLP 506 or equal) which will be run down tower legs to site ground or rod driven in ground. The down conductor will be run on stand-offs on the tower leggs and will be cad-welded to each tower section.

Lightning Mast need to be near the corners at 180 degrees opposite each other.

Note: Where tower leg sections are bolted together on the vertical runs, a ground strap cable will cad-weld connecting the tower sections making a continuous bond. And a strap will be installed connecting the platform to the tower legs too.

Note: Exact position of each Mast depends on location of antenna swing out assembly.

Mast must not interfere with antenna or swing out assembly.
