MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
FROM: 36 CONS/PKB
SUBJECT: FA524023QM018 0001: Attachment 3 – Response to RFIs
1. The purpose of this Memorandum For Record (MFR) is to provide responses to Requests For Information (RFIs) received in response to the subject solicitation.
2. Requests For Information:
Q1: With reference to Attachment 1 – Salient Characteristics, I would be grateful if you could clarify the following. Point 1 state that the unit must fit on a 463L single pallet position and point 8 states that the units must be CSC certified. A single 463L pallet has the following footprint dimensions: 108”L x 88”W. Per ISO 663, which governs the dimensions for CSC certification, the smallest footprint available is 120”L x 96”W. Please can you clarify which should be followed?
A1: Needs to utilize 463L rail system that most C130s and C17s utilize and must take up 1 pallet position space on the Aircraft when stowed. CSC certified means they can be stacked together. Reference updated Salient Characteristics.
Q2: Can you confirm that point 2 is correct, and the unit should measure 8’H x 8’W x 20’L when expanded? Rather than not expanded.
A2: Stowed the ISU would be 10’ L x 8’ W x 8 H’ (normal dimensions for most ISUs). Once deployed and expanded the item should expand to 10 L x 20 W x 8 H. Reference updated Salient Characteristics.
