TO
JAPANESE AWARENESS
INSTRUCTOR

Section -1 Description of Services
1. Performance Period: 1 Oct 11 to 30 Sept 12 with two options. Dates and times, as scheduled, are agreed to between both parties.
1.1. Performance Requirements:
1.1.1. The contractor shall work two (4) hour sessions, twice weekly (with the exception of federal holidays when the services of the contractor will not be required). One four (4) hour session will be performed in either the morning or afternoon (at AFRC, Bldg 535, Yokota AB) every Monday, with the second session being performed on Thursday. These days of the week are subject to change during the performance year. If fewer than five students are available for the session, the services of the contractor will not be required
(contractor will be informed the day prior by Chief, A&FRC). During times of local exercises or real world scenarios, the services of the contractor may not be required (contractor will be informed the day prior by the Chief, A&FRC)
1.1.2. The contractor shall orientate the attendees on the different aspects of the
Japanese culture; such as history, customs, etiquette, government, shopping, holidays, art, religion, entertainment, and life styles, etc…
1.1.3. The contractor shall have experience doing cultural presentations.
1.1.4. The contractor shall be oriented toward the A&FRC mission and objectives as needed.
1.2. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1.2.1. To develop and conduct lessons on different aspects of the Japanese culture
(i.e. tea ceremony demonstrations, kimono dressing demonstrations, classical dancing performances, Japanese cooking demonstrations, foreign spouses’ orientations, and English teaching seminars to name a few).
1.2.2. To assist students to better understand Japanese mannerisms and life styles.
1.2.3. To assess students’ interest, needs and design lesson plans to meet those needs.
1.2.4. To develop and conduct special cultural awareness group orientation briefings for visiting teams (i.e. inspector general and reservist etc…).
1.2.5. To develop and use audiovisual aids and slides necessary to meet the program’s objectives. To develop brochures and/or handouts necessary for accomplishing lesson objectives.
1.2.6. To review each session with the Relocation Assistance Core Compliance
Expert for the purpose of program evaluation and effectiveness
1.2.7. To assist those military members and spouses with translation of forms, applications, passport applications, etc…
1.2.8. Payment will be on the hourly rate stated on the schedule of this order.
Contractor will be required to maintain a sign in/out log. This log will be verified by the RAM and payment for services rendered will be based on the sign in/out log. Payment is authorized to be made once a month.

Section-3
3. Government Furnished Property and Services.
3.1. Utilities. Electricity (at existing outlet locations), hot and cold water as determined necessary to fulfill the needs of this contract will be furnished by the
U.S. Government at no cost to the contractor.

4. General Information.
4.1. Government Remedies. The contracting officer shall follow FAR 52.212.4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items for contractor’s failure to perform satisfactory or failure to correct non-conforming services.
4.2. Hours of Operation.
4.2.1. Normal Hours of Operation. Normal hours of operation shall be in accordance with paragraph 1.1.1 of this SOW.
4.2.1.1. U.S. Holidays. The designed US legal holidays are as follows:

*If the holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be celebrated on Friday and if the holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be celebrated on a Monday.
4.3. Contractor may take a maximum of 30 days leave/vacation each year at no cost to the US Government. Contractor shall obtain written approval from the
Director prior to beginning leave/vacation. If the length of the leave/vacation will exceed eight continuous work hours, the Contractor must request approval at least 30 days in advance of the leave/vacation.
4.3.1. The Chief, A&FRC may approve additional days for illness or emergencies.
The Contracting Officer reserves the right to terminate this contract if these days become excessive.
4.4. Resume/Interview: Offeror will submit a resume outlining their qualifications.
Interviews will be scheduled with each offeror after the closing date specified in block 8 of SF1449.
