FA5004-15-B-C004 Thaw Shed Roof Answers to Questions #02
1 Jun 2015
Q1. In the scope of work 6.7 it states- Repair by replacement two (2) 9’ fixed ladders, one 26’ fixed ladder with safety cage, one 33’ fixed ladder with safety cage, and one 21’ ladder with safety cage. JA-7 Work areas North section appears to point to removing one of the 9 ft. ladders going away and the long ladder to the high roof being replaced. If this is correct do you have an approximate length for the ladder going to the high roof?
A1. Incorrect, the contractor should adhere to the quantity in the SOW. Page 4 of JA-7 is added to show ladder locations.
Q2. During site visit we asked a question regarding repair or replacement of access ladder directly adjacent to coal chute as shown on maps note (South Section) page 56 of amendment #2.
At the time the answer was no work in contract for this access ladder (see our attachment #1).
Please clarify.
A2. No work for providing additional ladders was discussed relating to this question however there were several questions regarding this area and was suggested to all parties concerned that this would be addressed based off contractors measurements and finding during walkthrough. Please use drawings provided and SOW for specific ladder locations.
Q3. The statement of work paragraph 6.7 identifies two nine foot ladders, one 26 foot ladder with safety cage, one 33 foot ladder with safety cage and one21 foot ladder with safety cage.
Currently there are 2 existing nine foot ladders now being shown in amendment #2 on map notes Work Areas (North Section) as identified on as-built drawings and our attachment #2. One ladder is shown as Repair by Replacement the other as being removed. If this is the case, the ladder lengths identified in the statement of work is incorrect. Do you concur?
A3. Negative repair by replacement 2 ea. 9’ fixed metal ladders as required, the remaining fixed metal ladders shall be repaired/ replaced as stated in the SOW and identified in the drawings provided.
Q4. Is the ladder shown at southern most location on North Section map replaced below the current landing as shown in attached photo #3 only? Please clarify.
A4. No do not repair this ladder is not in scope of work.
Q5. Current Work Areas Map (North Section) per amendment #2 and our attachment #2 and #4 shows as-built roof area M as not included in the scope of work. Is this the intent?
A5. Do not include area “M” it is new and under warranty.
Q6. If per question #5 the intent is to replace roof area M please review our original questions #3 and #4 to clarify.
A6. N/A.
