Mechanical Dock Levelers Questions & Answers
1. Under Part ll General Requirements – Part 2 makes reference to only replacing the dock levelers.
The site visit revealed that the dock seals on the exterior of the building are also in need of replacement. Please advise if this scope should also be included at this time.
Yes, the seals will require replacement and should be added to scope of work.
2. The area of the new pit levelers (footprint) has it been confirmed there are no underground utilities that can and would be compromised in the cutting and excavating process for preparing the pits to be installed.

3. Please confirm if the scope of work can all be performed at the same time with the ability to close off the area and excavate and pour all three positions at one time.
Yes, the Contractor will own the whole construction area. Arrangements are being made by SQ to temporarily use other dock locations in the building.
4. Can you provide the electrical requirements?
Dock Levelers are mechanical, no electrical will be required to operate them.
5. Do you know where we are planning to get power from?

6. Can you provide as-builts showing the panel locations?

7. Is there any requirement for engineering? If not, can you confirm that the proposed panels to feed these have adequate space and compacity for the new loads?
No engineering requirement.
8. Is there any of the existing electrical on the walls that will need to be modified?
There is electrical on the wall, and it will not need to be modified.
