AUDIO BOOTH SOLICITATION QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q1) The Monitor 26" normally is not supplied with the booth, but it is usually supplied by the end user own Audiometric Equipment Bio‐Engineering department after installation of the booth. Or are you asking the booth Manufacture to supply same?
Q2) Is the booth going on the first Floor or is it going on an upper floor?
Q3) If it is an upper floor, what are the inside measurements to the freight Elevator?
Q4) Is there a loading dock at the building site with a fork lift?
Q5) What are the equipment movement options available?
Q6) Can you please confirm the existing audio has been removed from this room.
Q7) We assume that the >66 NIC rating you have cited refers to the double‐walled Exam room, not necessarily the Control room – which is a single‐walled room. Please confirm.
Q8) We do frequently construct ‘cam‐lock’ panels (e.g., removable access panels), but we do not construct entire booths having all wall/ceiling/floor panels connected by cam‐locks. Rather our booths use a proprietary panel connection using extruded plastic connector channels. They are more effective, more durable and much less expensive and easier to assemble than using Cam‐Locks. Because we use these channels, our booths do meet the ‘ease‐of‐ assembly/disassembly’ requirement in your Salient Characteristics. Our philosophy is that anyone – skilled or unskilled – should be able to assemble and disassemble our booths.
Would extruded plastic channel connectors be acceptable?
Q9) Rather than compromising the integrity of the acoustic panels to create an interior cable chase, would you accept dimmable 12vDC lighting system with wiring that is wall‐mounted on the exterior panels of the booth, using plastic raceways?
Q10) Normally, we do not use steel surfaces inside the booth for acoustic reasons. Is there a request for steel floor system because of a concern about moisture on the floor, and degradation of a wooden floor structure?
Q11) The simplicity of assembly of our booths means that we do not normally send a field team to assemble the booth at the customer’s site. Our booths easily and without tools or any special skills, assemble and disassemble. We provide easy‐to‐follow instructions, and we are available by phone or Facetime to help in real‐time if a problem arises during assembly. Having said that, we will separately price the cost of sending a two‐person assembly team to Anchorage. It will add significantly to the overall project cost.
Would JBER consider doing the assembly themselves if we could show ease of assembly with our bid?
