Questions and Answers

1. Is there an anticipated notice of award date?

a. Answer: If an award is made, it will happen before 30 September.

2. Are there a list of permits required?

a. Answer: Permits will need to be coordinated through 673d Environmental office and the state of Alaska.

3. Is there any expected hazardous materials?

a. Answer: No, no hazardous material sampling has been done.

4. Are there any “as builts”?

a. Answer: No.

5. Are the utilities attached to the bridge live?

a. Answer: No, they were for a sprinkler system and all will be disconnected.

6. Will the barriers be moved?

a. Answer: Yes, the work will be done from barrier to barrier but they will be removed to allow performance of work.

7. Is there access from the Boniface side as opposed to the Post Road side?

a. Answer: Yes. The road conditions are similar on both sides. Weight of equipment may be required to be provided to 773d CE prior to driving it on the Boniface side. Coordination will be needed with Security Forces prior to accessing through the Boniface Gate.

8. Are the posts to be totally removed?

a. Answer: Below grade.

9. If pavement is damaged by equipment movement, will it need to be repaired?

a. Answer: Only to the extent as to allow the same type of travel as prior to demolition. (Gravel or RAP compacted would be sufficient)

10. Restoration to damaged marsh areas from equipment?

a. Answer: Marsh areas will need to be protected/restored from damage by equipment

11. Restrictions to types of equipment being brought on to base to perform job?

a. Answer: No restrictions to the type of equipment allowed.

12. Is there any problem with potentially trimming trees overhanging the area to make way for equipment?

a. Answer: No restrictions to trimming/removing trees to allow access.

13. Is there a max cost range for this?

a. Answer: This is considered a service contract and not a construction contract, therefore there is no disclosure of magnitude.
