Questions for Solicitation # FA5000-15-R-0046
1. Can we get a map that shows the building numbers and there locations?
Answer—We can provide a condensed base map at the time of award.
2. Is there any existing single mode fiber connecting any of the following buildings to each other or to a central site or sites? If yes, will it be available to use? If no, are there available conduits connecting any of the following buildings:
Bldg 5955, 5975, 600, 604, 647, 652, 655, 690, 3786, 5126, 8088, 8517, 8535, 9480, 9510, 10364, 10471, 10480, 11415, 11525, 11540, 11550, 602, 620, 622, 626, 628, 641, 651, 668, 682, 688, 791, 7053, 7076, 7079, 7083, 7113, 8001, 8005, 8113, 8119, Temporary Barracks 01, Temporary Barracks 02? If available conduits exist, which of those can be used for the purpose of installing fiber?
Answer-- It looks like all but 9 have single mode cables to them. We cannot say if there are strands available for use on those cables until a requirement is levied and a work order is put in for a survey effort. For the buildings that do not have single mode fiber cables to them or do not have strands available, there is no conduit available for use as we do not allow commercial cables/utilities in JBER’s MH duct system.
3. In the Attachment 1 Pricing Schedule, Line Item 0002, is this for new locations and sites or existing locations or sites? In the Attachment 1 Pricing Schedule, Line Item 0001, specifically states that the cabling will be for existing sites while Line Item 0002 leaves this wording out. The existing locations are currently using Coaxial cable. Are you requesting for fiber optic cable to be used for all new installations?
Answer-- Line Item 0002 is for existing locations.
4. In our walk thru, it was mentioned that fiber optic was installed in the hospital but all existing TVs we saw were homeruns to the Telecom Room with Coaxial cable.
Did you mean that fiber was run to the building but not inside? If fiber is run to the hospital, where does the other end go and what is it connected to? Does it belong to the military and can we use it to extend out service?
Answer – Fiber is run to bldg. 4974 MDG Central Plant, (located on hospital campus) from there MDG signal supplied via analog (coaxial cable). The gov’t (MDG) owns/purchased all hardware wiring installed to run cable services.
5. Can we get a copy of the room lists in Excel format?
Answer-- Yes. See attached document.

Answer – a) Broadband Distribution Amplifier - model BIDA 550-50/stock # 5400-55 &
b) Sub-band Diplexer model DSV stock # 4375
7. What frequencies are currently being used for your channels?
