STATEMENT OF WORK

Preparing and Painting JBER Vehicles and Vehicle Equipment

27 May 2014

SECTION I -DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

1.0 Description of Requirement

Repainting of vehicular equipment is authorized when adequate protection must be afforded against corrosion and the cost of repainting is less costly than spot painting. Repainting of surfaces which have been repaired following an accident is also authorized. However, equipment will not be repainted merely to change the color, gloss characteristics, or to improve the appearance per T.O. 36-1-191.

1.1 Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide all services, materials, supplies, equipment, and project supervision, as required in connection with this Statement of Work (SOW).

1.2 The contractor shall perform the following services:

1.2.1 Prepare vehicle/equipment for painting to include scraping, grinding or applying paint remover.

1.2.2 Apply chemical compounds such as primers, sealers, and finish coatings, to wood, plastic, composite, and metal vehicle body surfaces.

1.2.3 Repainted vehicles shall bear a temporary notice, affixed to the dash panel, reflecting "DO NOT POLISH, OR WASH WITH DETERGENTS BEFORE

(enter date). WASH AS OFTEN AS NECESSARY WITH WATER ONLY".

(The time element will coincide with the paint manufacturer’s recommendation.)

1.3 Project Policy

The contractor shall comply with all industry standards. All work shall be done in accordance with all federal, local, and state laws and regulations.

1..3.1 Health and safety.

Some chemical vapors may be hazardous. Proper environmental and personnel protections must be employed. Work will be accomplished in a well-ventilated area; avoid prolonged breathing of chemical vapors. If in doubt of safety or health measures, contact assigned Bioenvironmental Engineer. Any and all final products received shall be free of defects that may affect the safety of personnel and/or equipment associated with the use of said product.

1.4 Delivery Schedule

The Government will deliver and retrieve all vehicles and/or equipment, to and from the contractor. Due to the size and complexity of each vehicle/equipment a specific time will be agreed upon at the time a call is placed. If no specific time is agreed upon, then it is assumed to be the maximum time allowed. The maximum time allowed will not exceed 60 days. If more time is needed the contractor shall request an extension from the government representative.

SECTION II- SERVICE DELIVERY SUMMARY

The absence of any contract requirement from the SS shall not detract from its enforceability nor limit the rights or remedies of the Government under any other provisions of the contract.
