Questions and Answers

FA489720QA030 RANS Solar Project

4 May 2020

1. If you already have batteries, please specify the number, age, brand, model number. If they are not to be reused, or do not exist, we will assume that we need to engineer, procure and supply them as part of this RFQ., Please tell us if the structure that will house the battery bank is conditioned?

A. There are no current battery set ups at the remote site. The batteries will be seated in side of the building but in a designed box by the Contractor to ensure the batteries can maintain proper temperature.

2. Please supply all relevant information regarding the generator, such as rating, brand, age, fuel source and distance from structure?

A. The generator specifications are 120/208 Volts AC, 100 Kw, 3 phase, Cummings power generation, 3 years old, propane, distance from structure is approximately 100ft from structure.

3. If you have any anticipated load expectations, please relay them to us. This is the most important issue, although the generator can be programed to provide backup power to the solar array/battery bank?

A. Network devices will be running 24/7 off of this system so that remote commands can be sent to generator to start up. This allows us to support customer request during site utilization.

4. Please supply the roof dimensions, or identify which structure is to be utilized?

A. The roof is approximately 20’L x 15’W on each side.

5. In Idaho, it often makes sense to use ground mounted solar to maximize the effective production of solar. (Due to snow loads, coverage, orientation and pitch.) Would you consider this?

A. Due to environment restrictions (ETI, Enhanced Training in Idaho), we are only able to modify existing structures on site. This is why solar panels need to be placed on the roof of the building.

6. We are assuming there is no grid power at the site?

A. The only power on site is provided by a generator.
