Salient Characteristics for Armory Rolling Rack Storage System

- Dimensions of the room where the Storage System will be located: 34’- 8” x 15’- 1”; 8’- 0” Ceilings

- Dimensions of the area for the Storage System to occupy: 10’- 4” x 13’- 2”

- Total amount of Carriages required: 4 Carriages

- Carriage tracks must be seismic (anti-tipping)

- Minimum amount of individual Weapon Rack Storage Units required: 24 Units (6 back-to-back Units per Carriage)

- Individual Weapon Rack Storage Units must be constructed of a heavy gauge metal

- Minimum amount of weapon configurations that will be stored:

- 241 M4A1 Rifles with the new DVO optic (Sig Sauer TANGO6T 1-6X24 MM) as well as any other authorized attachments (PEQ-15, Flash light, Foregrip, Sling)

- 224 M18 Pistols

- 5 M203/M320 Grenade Launchers

- 5 M249 Machine Guns

- 3 M240B Machine Guns

- 60 Privately Owned Weapons (Rifles, Shotguns, and Pistols)

- M4A1 Rifle storage will need to be double spaced to account for side rail attachments. The current system has single spacing for the M4A1s allowing only top rail and bottom rail attachments which restricts the Armory’s capabilities.

- Ammunition Storage: A minimum of 90 boxes of 9mm ammunition and 78 boxes of 5.56mm ammunition (168 boxes total) will be stored in the System. All proposals must provide adequate storage bins for ammunition within the Weapon Rack Storage Units.

- The size and configurations of the Weapon Rack Storage Units can be chosen by the Contractor. The only requirement is that the chosen Storage Unit specifications do not violate any of the listed Salient Characteristics, and that there is adequate storage for all weapon configurations and ammunition.

- The System must have the ability to be locked and secured when the armory is not manned

- Contractors must provide a detailed design/drawing of their proposed Rolling Rack Storage System along with Weapon Rack Storage Unit configurations and dimensions.

- Contractors will be responsible for installation of the new Rolling Rack Storage System as well as tear down and removal of the existing system. The existing system occupies the same area as the requested dimensions for the new system. It also contains the same number of Carriages and Storage Units.
