00122-Aug-22Statement of WorkIs there a floor plan / room layout available?8/24/22The only thing close to a floor plan I have has already been provided to contracting.S4CASSgt Rust
00222-Aug-22Statement of WorkMeasurement from flloor to ceiling beam?8/24/228 foot, 2 inchesS4CASSgt Rust
00322-Aug-22Statement of WorkMeasurement from floor to lights?8/24/227 foot, 11 inchesS4CASSgt Rust
00422-Aug-22Statement of WorkIs the static rack to be replaced as well and included in pricing?8/24/22The current rack will need to be removed prior to install and disposed ofS4CASSgt Rust
00523-Aug-22Statement of WorkDoes the unit require the seismic track to be fully grouted and anchored to the concrete slab to prevent them from being unlevel?8/24/22YesS4CASSgt Rust
00623-Aug-22Statement of WorkDoes the unit want heavy duty rubber matting provided over the wood decking so they do not have raw, exposed plywood between the tracks?8/24/22YesS4CASSgt Rust
00723-Aug-22Statement of WorkThe carriage system has three different types of methods to roll or collapse carriages, manual, mechanical assist (3 spoke rotating handle) or electric. What type of drive system does the end user want for the armory system?8/24/22Mechanical AssistS4CASSgt Rust
00823-Aug-22Statement of WorkDoes the unit want finished end panels to conceal the gear box covers in the front of the carriage system?8/24/22YesS4CASSgt Rust
00923-Aug-22Statement of WorkDoes the unit want the ability to collapse the moveable carriages with the doors of the weapon racks open?8/24/22NoS4CASSgt Rust
01023-Aug-22Statement of WorkThere are other systems, like 4 post boltless shelving that have been used to store weapons but can be taken apart without the use of tools and do not meet physical security requirements to store weapons. Please specify whether cabinets with locking doors or open shelving with a system lock are required.8/24/22Locking cabinets will be required to meet resource protection needs IAW with the regulationS4CASSgt Rust
01123-Aug-22Statement of WorkAre adjustable components required to store different size weapons side by side? In some cases due to varying inventory numbers, there will be different weapons adjacent to one another in racks.8/24/22YesS4CASSgt Rust
01223-Aug-22Statement of WorkHow to store the weapons: There are many ways to store weapons in weapon racks. Most vendors store weapons in a linear line across each vertical weapon rack tier. The cabinets can include partial or fully slotted back panels to adjust barrel saddles, shelves and other components on the back panel as needed by the end user. Does the end user require individually adjustable barrel saddles to account for varying weapon heights throughout the system?8/24/22YesS4CASSgt Rust
01323-Aug-22Statement of WorkA partially slotted back panel requires the end user to purchase additional support rails or disassemble their existing support rails to relocate within the rack when they need to adjust the height settings. Does the end user require a fully slotted back panel inside of the weapon rack to allow for ease of interchangeable and reconfigurable components?8/24/22YesS4CASSgt Rust
01423-Aug-22Statement of WorkWeapons can also be stored turn 90 degrees, front to back with weapons stored behind other weapons. Weapons can be stored staggered with one weapon forward, one back. This staggering methodology is used to store more weapons inside of a cabinet than it is designed for but utilizes restrictive shared barrel saddles, which only support storing one rifles at one height setting on that tier.8/24/22This method would not be preferred unless it was a last resortS4CASSgt Rust
01523-Aug-22Statement of WorkOne vendor supplies inverted brackets to store weapons buttstock up barrel down.
Does the armory want the weapons stored buttstock down, barrel up in a straight line without any type of staggering?8/24/22I have seen them before and am open to the idea, as long as the spacing permits us to store our rifles with the AF's new optic currently being fieldedS4CASSgt Rust
01623-Aug-22Statement of WorkSome weapon rack suppliers utilize flat shelves with no angles to support rifle buttstocks. This does not secure the front and rear of the buttstock and allows weapons to be able to rotate while being stored. Does the armorer want weapon holders to secure the front and rear of the rifle buttstock so the weapon is stored with a proper storage angle and can not be rotated while stored?8/24/22We would need the weapons to be secured with out the ability to be rotatedS4CASSgt Rust
01723-Aug-22Statement of WorkDoes the end user want the ammunition stored in the same location as the weapons in the weapon racks? Are they stored in ammo cans or as magazines?8/24/22We would like to be able to store our ammunition with our weapons. We currently are not due to limited space in the current rack system. Our daily issue ammunition is loaded in magazines, but we do keep crate ammo on hand as wellS4CASSgt Rust
01823-Aug-22Statement of WorkIs there any fixed shelving not on mobile carriages? If yes, how many sections and shelf levels?
Do the M4s have any attachments on the side of the rails?8/24/22Yes, 6 storage shelving units, 65 individual shelves are currently being utilizedS4CASSgt Rust
01923-Aug-22Statement of WorkWill base fire be enforcing the 18" sprinkler clearance fire code inside the armory? The current system violates fire code.8/24/22I can contact base fire to ask this question. I was unaware the current system violated the requirementS4CASSgt Rust
02024-Aug-22Salient Characteristics1Pictures show (3) double sided mobile carriages and (1) single sided static carriage, which is (21) weapon rack storage units. Specs same the same number of carriages and storage units are to be provided, but also mentions (24) units with (6) back to back per carriage. Please specify how many single sided and double sided carriages are required with the total number of weapons rack units.8/24/22We want all 4 carriages to be mobile with 6 back to back storage units per carriage.S4CASSgt Rust
02124-Aug-22Salient Characteristics1What are the dimension of each of the existing weapons units?8/24/22Each of the units are 7 ft tall X 36 In Wide X 15 1/2 In DeepS4CASSgt Rust
02224-Aug-22Salient Characteristics1Is the 10’4” measurement from the wall to the end of the handle on the mobile carriage?8/24/22The end of the handle would add 5 more inches making it 10 ft, 9 inS4CASSgt Rust
02324-Aug-22Salient Characteristics1Is the decking material between the tracks painted plywood?8/24/22It appears to be plywood with an 1/8 inch plastic or polymer topingS4CASSgt Rust
02424-Aug-22Salient Characteristics1Is there a forklift on site that can be used for unloading the new product at the installation site?8/24/22No.S4CASSgt Rust
02524-Aug-22Solicitation1Can the bid be extended to allow a minimum of 5 business days from the time the questions are answered until the bid is due?8/24/22The due date for quotes will be extended by 1 day to Wednesday, August 31.PKPSSgt Zachary FarelNON/A
02624-Aug-22Solicitation1Will you allow a site visit?8/24/22No Site Visit will be held due to time constraints.PKPSSgt Zachary FarelNON/A
