Flight Crew Lockers Q&A

-Q: When you give the count of the lockers, i.e. 196 flight crew lockers, are you referring to 196 openings in 98 lockers or an actual of 196 with two openings per locker.

A: We are looking for 196 individual lockers with two openings at the specified heights. The top opening will require a solid door for full enclosure. Both doors will require hasps for customer-supplied locks.

-Q: Are the lockers in one continuous row or are they broken up and if so what are the lengths of the walls they will be mounted to?

A: The lockers will be broken up with some mounted against the walls and others will be mounted in the concrete throughout the room. The lengths for the walls can be shown in the attached excel spreadsheet.

-Q: What type of wall are the lockers going against? Sheet rock (dry wall), concrete, cinder block, or metal building?

A: The walls are sheet rock with metal studs.

-Q: Is there a sketch showing the layout of the lockers.

A: See attached diagram.

-Q: Can the Airforce provide us with a schematic drawing of the lockers including specific dimensions required?

A: See attached diagram.

-Q: Does the Air Force have a specific Manufacturer and/or Model in mind for the Flight Crew Lockers?

A: For crew lockers, initial design was based on a custom fabrication. HMD locker design was based on Strong-Hold model #4.76-34-V-2TPL with solid metal doors. For DV lockers, our design was based on Debourgh model #29813-2 customized to the prescribed dimensions. There is no preferred manufacturer/brand.
