B486 Carpet Replacement Site Visit

Question:

1. Regarding the above solicitation, are all rooms getting carpet in Bldg 486 or is just the area identified in room 10 the only room receiving carpet?

Answer: Building 486 has three independent areas, for labeling purposes they are

486P, 486A, and 486B. Drawings were provided to show areas that were to receive carpet or LVT. Drawings were handed out during the site visit.

Question:

2. In the initial solicitation only 1 floor plan was provided. It was determined at the site walk there are an additional 2 plans. Are these available in a CAD drawing or electronically?

Answer: See attached drawings, furniture layout not 100% accurate as users have modified it in some areas.

3. It was stated that all the wood trim is to be reused. Does this need to be removed and carpet ran to the wall or is leave trim, run the carpet up to the trim and use quarter round. The concern here is damage to the wall or existing trim.

Answer: Wood trim to remain, carpet is to be slid under wood base trim.

Question:

4. Confirming the occupants will remove the metal base from all office partitions.

Answer: Occupants will not remove ALL metal base from office partitions.

Occupants will remove a selected amount and show installer how to remove and re-install. Installer will be responsible for any damage to new furniture.

Question:

5. Scheduling: What are the government expectations for scheduling. i.e. one building at a time, individual offices or sections? We can propose a schedule that we feel would be most efficient, however need to understand room availability-communications prior.

Answer: Areas are open from 0730 to 1630 each day, installer will work with each area to develop a schedule that meets both parties need’s. Installer can propose a schedule, nights and weekends, holidays N/A.

Question:

6. Is there a laydown area available for a container/material storage?

Answer: A container may be placed outside the AOC compound in the West lot, location to be identified at before project begins.

7. We have one question on the Solicitation for Tyndall Air Force Base regarding Repaid Flooring, B486.We request the existing furniture plan for

B. 486 in AutoCAD.

Answer: Drawings included, not 100% accurate as users have changed some areas without providing information for drawing updates.
