Question in BLACK Answers in RED

1.) What type of generators?

Generators 2 ea CAT 1150 kW, 480 VAC, Diesel.

2.) Looking at the current gear in place.

Main cable to gens through bottom, contractor will be removing current ASCO gear and replacing with new ASCO gear as stated in PWS. ASCO will build new gear to match size and configuration of old gear. Don't know what the GE logic controller is doing, ASCO determined it was required for their build.

3.) What is the Sequence of Operation?

Sequence of operation - ATS detects fault in commercial power, signals ASCO switch to close relay for generator start up. Gear monitors generators at start up and keeps one on line while shutting down the other, user selects primary/secondary.

4.) I noticed battery chargers mounted on the left side of the gear?

Battery chargers maintain batteries for generator controls, need to be reinstalled on new gear.

5.). Location of gear: ------ Building XXX, generator room

a. 1st floor, top floor, underground, basement, outdoor? -----1 st Floor
b. distance from Gensets -------- Approx 8' - 10'
c. location of Gensets ---------- Building XXX, 1st floor

6.) removal of existing gear -----------contractor responsibility

a. can equipment fit through doors, into service elevators, etc -------------yes 7.) Can existing sheet metal enclosures and bussing be used (retrofit) ----------no, remove and replace with new ASCO build.

8.) Will new power cables need ran? Not sure, don’t believe so 9.) How old is current gear and Gensets? Gear is mid 80's, get sets are late 90 early 2000 10.) Responsibilities concerning the Gensets? ------------Contractor will reconnect all systems from the gensets to new gear

a. Controls
b. Voltage regulators
c. Fuel

11). Application

a. CRITICAL (HOSPITAL OR OTHER VITAL APPLICATION) -------Critical
b. NON CRITICAL( NON EMERGENCY OR VITAL)

12.) Do we provide temporary power? -------- No 13.) How long can gensets be offline? ---------3 days max

14.) Can you find out if the two generators are controlled from a separate paralleling switchgear?

We have a main transfer switch, ATS, in our main motor control and distribution center. The ATS sends a signal to the ASCO gear, which in turn, initiates the generator start up and controls the lead/lag set up and monitors generator operations and load.
