Building 29 Move Out Questions and Answers, 19Mar15
1. Are all workstations in the Finance section being moved and then set back up by the contractors?
a. Not all of them. Please see Attachment 2 - Revised Bldg 29 Item Listing, 19Mar15. The CPTS-FMA tab has been updated to reflect what cubicles will be moved and set back up and which ones will be disassembled and put into storage.
2. Will the entire building be required to move?
a. Yes, by the time Phase 2 is completed, the entire building will no longer be occupied.
3. When will all personal items be removed?
a. All personal items are expected to be moved out of the areas by the respective units 1 day prior to the agreed upon move date for that office.
4. Is there a freight elevator?
a. There is a small elevator located in the center of the building with a total capacity of 2,000 lbs.
5. Are the electronics seen in the walk through required to be moved?
a. Only what is on Attachment 2 - Revised Bldg 29 Item Listing, 19Mar15 is expected to be moved by the contractor. If this changes during the move, it will be addressed at that time and fair compensation will be considered.
6. Are the movers required to rebuild all furniture to include those items going in storage?
a. With the exception of the furnishings going into storage, the contractor is required to reassemble all furnishings that they disassembled and moved.
7. Will photos of the furniture being moved be provided?
a. Photos will not be provided.
8. How long is Phase II?
a. Phase II is from 20 July 2015 through 31 July 2015. There was a mistake in the PWS in paragraph 1.2.2.; that has been corrected and incorporated into Attachment 1 - Revised Bldg 29 Relocation Services SOW, 19Mar15.
9. Furniture listing has changed, is there a new consolidated listing of what is required to be moved?
a. The most up to date listing has been attached to this amendment, Attachment 2 - Revised Bldg 29 Item Listing, 19Mar15.
10. Do all conference tables have glass?
a. No, not all conference tables are glass topped.
11. Will photograph boards in each hallway be required to be moved?
a. As of right now, no. If it is decided to add them to the scope of this contract during performance, it will be discussed at that time.
12. How many safes are located on the second floor and can they be moved in the elevator?
a. The number of safes is pointed out in the item listing. All safes can be moved to the elevator.
13. How many multi-level buildings are there for this requirement?
a. Bldg 29, the facility that all of the furnishings are being moved out of, is a two (2) story building. Building 811 is a two (2) story facility as well.
14. Is there a loading dock for the main building?
a. No, there is no loading dock for the main building.
15. Can the awardee receive a labeled map of the units?
a. Yes, that will be provided upon award of the contract.
16. Are there Classified items required to be moved by the contractor?
a. No. All classified items will be moved by the Government.
17. Are there any areas that do not authorize the use of cell phones?
a. Yes, the Historian’s Office (HO) and the Command Post (CP). If other areas are designated as not allowing cell phones or electronic devices, that will be discussed with the awardee of the contract.
18. Will there be a point of contact for receipt of items for each section?
a. Yes, there will be a designated point of contact for each section made available to you.
19. Are there travel restrictions on base in reference to eateries for the moving crews?
a. With the exception of the military dining facility, there are no restrictions on eateries for the moving crews.
20. Is security training required to be considered for award?
a. If security training is required, it will be given to the contractor who is awarded this contract immediately after award is made.
21. Is the furniture labeled for each individual member and if so who is required to label it?
a. Some furniture will be, not all.
22. Will drawings be accomplished to reflect left and right returns for the furniture and will layout for the new buildings already be determined prior to the move?
a. Coordination of furniture setup will have to be coordinated with the customer at each facility that items are being delivered to. It is expected that there will be a one-time assembly and placement; if items will be requested to be moved a second time, that would be the responsibility of the Government.
23. Are the Law libraries required to be moved?
a. As of this time, no; those will be the responsibility of the Government.
24. If electronics are to be disconnected prior to the move who will verify function?
a. A member of the owning unit.
25. What is the headcount for the building?
a. Approximately 190 people. This number changes every day and for security reasons, we cannot give an exact number.
26. Can both the front and back doors be utilized for moving furniture in the main building?
a. No, the doors facing the main street are not to be utilized.
27. Is floor protection required and if so does it need to be removed at the end of each day?
a. Yes floor protection is required for tiled areas and it is not required to be changed daily.
28. Is the building still functioning during Phase I?
a. Yes, there will still be units utilizing the building during the first phase of the move.
29. What flexibility on the move schedule is authorized if any?
a. The move must be completed within the specified dates for each phase.
30. Are boxes required to be provided by the movers?
a. There has been a “Not to Exceed” line item added to the solicitation that addresses this issue. It is expected that they contractor has medium and large boxes, as well as packing tape available for Government use prior to each office move. Once the contract is completed, the actual number of boxes and rolls of tape used will be calculated and the respective CLINs will then be definitized.
31. Will the solicitation closing date be pushed back?
a. No, the solicitation closing date is to remain the same.
