2. All parties then proceeded to the Meyer Drive channel and arrived at the site area at 0900. Ted Schindler/CEC Chief began by describing the install location at the channel site. Other CEC personnel present were Dave Alexander/Inspector, Leo Gromov/Engineer, and Greg Dragon/Inspector. The following items were discussed.
a. The water flow monitor will need to be moved and placed downstream of the gate. The monitor will not be disconnected. Ted will check with Environmental/CEV if the cable is to be buried or exposed.
b. A contingency plan for rain may be needed due to the possible rainy season during the concrete work. This contingency plan will be submitted to CEV for review. Questions were raised regarding water flow, flow rate, and erosion. A question of pumping the water was also raised.
The POP includes all weather delays unless the weather is historically unusual. The CO will make the final determination if needed.
c. Stop logs will be stored in the adjacent building next to the bridge. The stop logs will be carried by hand to the gate structure. Questions on the painting, roadway use, and laydown areas were raised and will be submitted as RFIs. The laydown areas can be the small dirt & grass area next to the building and the large parking area near Bldg. 2405. The contractor will be responsible for keeping their laydown area secure.
