FA4664-15-R-0017 – Install Spill Control Gate at Meyer Drive Questions and Answers

31 August 2015

1. Is the contractor allowed to disconnect the Storm Water Sampler to move? If so, how long does the contractor have to reconnect?

ANSWER: The sampler may not be disconnected from its tube/cable to move. The sampler and cable must be disconnected from the channel as a unit and moved and remounted upstream of the section of channel to be demo’d and put back in place as close as possible to its original location after completion of the gate installation as discussed at the site visit. The sampler may be out of service for up to one working day ONLY if there is no chance of rain during the time it is out of service. If there is any chance of rainfall, even a slight chance, the sampler must remain in service.

2. It was said during the site visit that a contingency plan submittal is required in the event of rain. Please confirm if this plan relates to paragraph 3.16 of the SOW. If water flow cannot be diverted, can we collect the rain water upstream of the site and use pumps to remove the water?

ANSWER: Yes, the plan relates to paragraph 3.16 of the SOW.

Yes.
