1) We notice the solicitation not only requests equipment, but also the installation of the equipment. Typically base maintenance personnel or licensed government contractors hook up the washer to the utilities such as electric, water, and steam exhaust. Normally, on-base personnel have the knowledge of utility installation such as the location of the electrical box, the connection to the water line, and the length of the steam exhaust outside the facility. Outside contractors would need to have very specific information about the facility in order to bid on the installation. Do you have approved licensed contractors to contact to bid on this project? Can this requirement be removed? Or without locations of the utilities, would you allow for an "allowance" or estimate on installation be provided?
We are checking on this at the moment. We should have an answer for you before the quotes are due next week.
2) Below in the Statement of Work, it states "remove, transport, and delivery." What is there to remove? Does this mean remove from the truck such as unloading the equipment?
Please disregard the removal part. There is nothing to remove at the moment.
