Q: Will these be weld on fittings required for the headers?
A: This will be all certified welded fittings. No x-raying but will by hydrostatic tested.
Q: Is there a detailed drawing, as builds or original construction drawings that show the center to center dimensions and locations of fittings intended to be installed in the header?
A: Limited drawings.
Q: Is there an elevation drawing that depict what scaffold and rigging requirements may be needed to access the work where the existing header must be cut and removed and then install the new header and re attach?
A: Limited drawings.
Q: What type and thickness is the insulation?
A: Fiberglass (non-asbestos). 3” thickness.
Q: What type of jacketing covers the insulation?
A: Standard fiber glass insulation.
Q: Are there any photos that indicate location of the headers relevant to potential obstructions that could interfere with transport of the header to the location of work?
A: No. Site visit should be done to evaluate.
Q: Would a one week extension of May 6th bid date be possible to thereby allow a site visit by me?
A: Another extension is possible. The available dates for a site visit are 2 May 2016 and 4-6 May 2016.
Q: After observing that both headers indicate to provide a 2” drain with two valves and the requirement of documentation and State inspections. This beckons the question if the work is code piping, Boiler External or Non Boiler external piping. Is the piping code piping requiring inspection by an Authorized Inspector to inspect the work?
A: Since this Non Boiler external piping an inspection by an authorized inspector will not be required.
