STATEMENT OF WORK

Distribution Header Repair

GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY OF WORK:

1.1.1 The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials to replace 2 header sections of the 16” High Temperature Hot Water distribution pipe. The pipe headers consist of (9) 10”, (2) 12”, (2) 3” and (1) 6” pipe branches; (7) 16” x 10” tees (2) 16” x 12” tees; (2) 10” , (2) 3”, and (1) 6” weld o-lets; (2) ½” and (1) ¾” thread o-lets; (2) 2” weld o-lets with pipe drain and (4) 2” gate valves

1.1.2 Contractor shall replace pipe hangers as needed

1.1.3 Contractor shall insulate all piping with non-asbestos insulation.

1.1.4 Contractor shall dispose of all materials removed during repair.

1.1.5 Contractor shall provide all documentation and inspections required by State and Federal requirements.

1.2 Specifications:

Process:

High Temperature Hot Water

Temperature:

500 Degrees F.

Pressure:

500 PSI

Material:

Black Iron Schedule 40 (1/2” wall thickness)

Size:

16” pipe headers

1.3 Execution:

1.3.1 Remove and dispose of all piping, insulation and materials being replaced

1.3.2 Manufacture (2) 16” pipe headers with (9) 10”, (2) 12”, (2) 3” and (1) 6” pipe branches; (7) 16” x 10” and (2) 16” x 12” tees; (2) 10” , (2) 3”, and (1) 6” weld o-lets; (2) ½” and (1) ¾” thread o-lets; (2) 2” weld o-lets with pipe drain and (4) 2” gate valves

1.3.3 Install replacement headers to meet all State and Federal requirements

1.3.4 Insulate all piping with non-asbestos insulation

1.3.5 Hydrostatic test and file all required documentation for repair required by Federal and State requirements

1.4 Government Support:

1.4.1 The government will be responsible for removal of all auxiliary equipment that would impede the execution of the contract. Testing requirements will be assisted by the government.

1.5 Period of Performance

1.5.1 Period of performance will be between June- August of Central Heating Plant maintenance overhaul.
