STATEMENT OF WORK

FY14 Remove Dead Trees/Grind Stumps

Whiteman Air force Base, MO 65305 22 July 2014

Purpose: Remove by cutting dead trees, grind stumps, backfill and seed areas.

1. The Contractor shall perform tree and stump (to include perimeter roots) removal by completely removing by cutting and grinding all growth, as well as clearing, grubbing, any tire ruts or other soil disturbance will be repaired and leveling for future mowing.

Stumps shall be ground within five (5) workdays of tree removal date. Stump grinding debris shall be removed the same day grinding is performed.

2. The Contractor shall provide backfill topsoil and compact to match existing grades. The

Contractor shall prepare, provide, and plant K31 seed. The Contractor shall dispose of all removed material off base.

3. Contractor work associated with this project shall be completed within 90 calendar days.

4. Trees identified for removal shall be considered within the following categories, large medium, and small based on their diameter. The diameter of the tree shall be determined by measuring 3-feet above the ground. Trees with multiple trunks shall be measured as follows: All trunk diameters shall be measured; the largest trunk diameter shall be recorded. Each remaining trunk diameter shall be halved. All values will then be added together to obtain the final tree diameter.

5. Large trees: Diameter 36” and above

Medium trees: Diameter 24” to less than 36” Small tress: Diameter 3” to less than 24” Note: Trees to be removed are currently marked with yellow survey ribbon for identification as per map indicates.
