SOW-Related Questions
Q1: Is there an availability of a forklift to support the delivery/installation at Fairchild AFB?
A1: Yes, there is a forklift available on station to support with delivery/installation.
Q2: How large are the doorways to the simulation room and any other doors/entryways that the simulator will need to pass through? Please provide height and width.
A2: All measurements provided will be in the H x W format. The entry to the building will be through a roll-up door (12 ft x 20 ft). There are three doorways to get through once inside, with the following measurements: 6 ¾ x 6 ½; 6 11/12 x 6 11/12; and 6 7/12 x 4 ft.
Q3: What are the dimensions of the simulator room? Height, width, and length? Is the room darkened or is there natural light?
A3: The simulator room is dark, with some artificial lighting and no natural light. The measurements for the room provided do not include the entirety of the room, but only the given space we have allotted to place the Pushback Tow Simulator. When in use, the simulator is given an area of 8 x 10 ft with a height of 8 ½ ft (ceiling height). When not in use, the Pushback Tow Simulator is not to occupy an area greater than 8 x 4 ft.
Q4: How many electrical outlets are available? What is the available power supply? Is internet available?
A4: There are three receptacles, two wall outlets and one power strip receptacle, within reach of the corner of the room where the Pushback Tow Sim will be installed, with the furthest wall outlet approximately 9 ft away. The wall outlets available are American standard 20 Amp 120V/60Hz Plug Type B. Internet should only have to be used to initially download and update software when necessary.
Training efficiency is not to be dependent on the facilities internet connection.
Q5: What are the qualifications of the maintenance staff that needs to receive the training?
A5: Fully qualified aircraft maintainers/instructors, experienced in towing of aircraft and properly instructing other maintainers.
Q6: Is it possible to obtain the training plan upon contract award so we can integrate?
A6: No, training plans/documentation (curriculum) requires a proper Security Clearance.

Amendment 1 Contractor Proposed Questions
Questions Related to Salient Characteristics
Q7: With respect to Weather – our simulators have an in-built weather condition of rain and fog.
Further, we can also include time of day (day, night, dawn, and dusk) as part of our standard offering.
Kindly confirm if this meets your expectation
A7: Yes, this meets the expectation.
Q8: With respect to “Movement” – what is meant by multiple turns? Does it refer to different types of pushback procedures?
A8: Yes, this is referring to the different types of pushback scenarios, as mentioned in Q10 (i.e. tail left, straight, and right).
Q9: With respect to “Wing walkers” – our simulator has an inbuilt operation of the wing walker, tail watcher, head set man in the pushback scenario. Each of these would perform the hand signals as seen in real life pushback operation. Kindly confirm if this meets your expectation. Further, we also offer a group training feature/multi-player mode which includes separate stations for each player like a cockpit brake rider, ATC, headset man, left wing walker, right wing walker and the tail watcher. Each of these players would perform the task as they would in a real-life pushback scenario. The pushback operator would carry out the pushback operations. A detailed evaluation of the task perform will be generated for each of the players. Please confirm if you would be interested in including this additional feature.
A9: General activities of the wing- and tail-walkers are enough. Additional features are not necessary.
Q10: With respect to “Database must be …” Our software package includes a generic airside with different types of aprons like remote apron, corner apron, angular apron, and apron with aerobridge.
The generic airside includes one runway, taxiway, germinal building, etc. The instructor can create their own scenario by selecting any one of the apron, aircraft type, type of pushback, weather condition and time of day. We also offer an additional package of Geo typical airside which is customized airside developed for your specific airport. For the development of customer airside, we would require the airside layout details for the area to be developed. Please confirm if this would meet your requirement
A10: At a minimum, the instructor must be able to choose different layouts of the flight line to better facilitate the training.
Q11: With respect to “Required Vehicles” – we offer 2 options for the conversion kit. Can you confirm that one, both or none of these options meet your requirement in terms of required vehicles?
Option 1: Software Conversion – In this option, the simulator mock-up will be based on a generic conventional tow bar tractor. The software conversion will be designed for the two tractors, MB-2 and B 1200. Software conversion includes the equipment dynamics designed per the equipment type including vehicle model, cabin layout, instrument cluster, and equipment operations. The instructor can select the type of pushback equipment from the instructor station and accordingly the software for the selected equipment will be loaded.
Option 2: Hardware & Software Conversion – In this option, the simulator hardware is designed to accommodate equipment specific hardware kits. The equipment specific hardware kit includes joysticks & levers, and dashboard switches. Common controls like the steering system and foot controls will be common for both equipment types. The hardware conversion feature is an easy process, the user can convert within 20 – 30 minutes
A11: The Tow simulator must accommodate cabin instrumentation (i.e. speedometer, tachometer), a seat for the operator that best resembles that of a MB-2 or B1200, and 180 degrees of FOV for the vehicle operator. The equipment does not need to be as specific as stated in Option 2. Option 1, assuming it includes the cabin basics provided, is enough to meet our requirements.
Q12: Can the government provide the equipment specific data like cabin pictures and operation manuals for the two types of tow vehicles.
A12: This unit uses locally developed training materials for operation of vehicles in question. Similarly to the course curriculum, this material will not be released.
