Questions and Answers, FA4608-16-R-0026 Runway Rubber Removal

1. Will any Construction Permits be required? No

2. Will there be any other base required permits other than Hot Work permits required? No

3. Has the government determined a route for daily materials and debris removal? Yes

4. Is there enough room for a dumpster to be located on the property near an accessible exit for trash removal daily? Yes

5. Is there a storage area for materials to be brought in and stored for the project? Yes, there is an area on the east side of the airfield within the fenced areas that material can be stored at. Where is the anticipated laydown area for the project where materials and equipment should be stored and parked when not in use? Same place, see below:

6. Will the government provide a sales tax exempt certificate? Yes, upon request after award

7. Will we need to provide for FOD prevention and personnel throughout the project, or at scheduled intervals during the project? The contractor is responsible for daily FOD monitoring

8. Will the Government provide comprehensive written badging requirements for the project if badging is required? How many personnel will be needing access to the controlled area?

9. Will the contractor be allowed to work 24-hours during the time periods? It would have to go through an approval process.

10. Does the government require a site safety officer, quality control officer, and project manager from the contractor to be on site at all times of operation? Usually just the project manager

11. Are there any special classes or training required to be on the runway? A short airfield driving class, vehicles will need to obtain placards for driving on the airfield. These can be obtained from the airfield managers’ office.

12. Will the contractor be responsible for filing proper paperwork with the FAA? The government lets the FAA know.
