FA4528-18-R-0001

19 Dec 17

1. Has there been asbestos/lead testing for sites Hotel, India & Juliet? Attachment #9 Has sites C-01, D-01, E-01, F-01 & G-01 only.

A) Please see Table #2 of Attachment 9. This provides a summary of all MAFs.

2. Does the temporary FSC trailer have to be ground level or can it be on wheels with stairways?

A) Trailer can use wheels and stairways as long as it is secured to prevent moving.

3. There is not wall type listed on elevator room walls, basically the interior walls only. Are those wall required to have the Kevlar panels?

A) Only the walls called out in the drawings for Kevlar are required to have it, interior walls are of traditional make-up.

4. How many inspectors/escorts will be available for this project?

A) Number of inspectors is dependent on other responsibilities/ongoing projects. A minimum of one will be available

5. Will we have a staging area for this project, if so how big and where at?

A) This will need to be determined at the pre-construction conference, but in the past a staging area has been allowed on site.

6. Will safety fencing/field office be required on this project as stated in specification 01 50 00?

A) Temporary orange fencing is only required if an unsafe condition exists, as determined by the SSHO and/or Contracting Representative. A separate, physical field office is not required, but there is limited space within the facility that may not be adequate for KTR administrative activities.

7. With this small of a project, can the Project Superintendent act as Quality Control Person & Site Safety Health Officer or do we need to employ a separate SSHO as stated in specification 01 35 26?

A) One person cannot act as all three.

8. On sheet E2.00 it identifies the DEMO showing a split triangle but below it, it shows an open triangle on the drawings identifying what device goes there. Could the government please look at existing locations to see if there are actually two jacks at each location? One being a voice and the other being a data outlet.

A) See attached picture 2 of Attachment 12.

9. Could the government please identify if faceplate is metal or plastic on wire mold and if possible what manufacturer since we are not supposed to reuse jacks and may have to match new jacks to a new faceplate.

A) Faceplates are metal.

10. Can all the cables being removed be coiled in ceiling for future use on new work? Is there space?

A) Anything demolished and not required to be saved to be re-installed needs to be removed from site. Anything uninstalled temporarily and saved for re-installation can be kept above suspended ceiling – there is approx. 1 foot between suspended ceiling and sheetrock ceiling.

11. What are the cable requirements? Are the existing cables category 5 or category 6?

A) The FSC office currently has both cat 5 and cat 6 cable. The project calls for existing cable to be re-used. Any new cable needs to be cat 6 (see G-01 E2.00 New Work Note 10).

12. What are the cable testing requirements?

A) The project calls for existing cable to be re-used (see E2.00 Demolition Note 7). Since cable is to be re-used a full division 27 specification is not required.

13. Door schedule shows door 107 as not being bullet resistant, and section 08 71 00 door hardware 3.4 hardware sets calls for new door 107 to be bullet-rated. Can the government please clarify which is correct?

A) The specification is correct, and the drawing has been updated.
