1. Section 01 11 00 - Summary of Work states that the work hours will be from 7:30am to 4:00pm. Will regular work be allowed beyond these hours?

See section 01 11 00, paragraph 1.2 - Subject to approval by contracting officer.

2. Section 01 32 01.00 10 Project Schedule requires a full CPM schedule. This seems a little extensive and expensive for a project this size and scope. Will all of the items in this section be required?

See revised section.

3. Section 01 33 29 - Sustainability Reporting. This section does not seem to apply to this type of work. Will this be required?

The sustainability requirements still correspond to the project due to the electrical work being done.

4. Section 01 45 00.10 20 - Quality Control for Minor Construction. This section states that the QC Manager needs to have completed the Construction Quality Management course and have a current certificate. Can you give details as to when and where this course is offered and how long the certificate is valid?

See revised section.

5. Section 32 11 10 - Drainage Layer. Page 3 of the section states that the material is to be placed with an asphalt paving machine. This will not be possible since the material is being placed on geotextile fabric.

Please clarify acceptable placement methods.

The specifications state that alternate methods may be used if pre-approved if specific results are obtained. The government does not have any specific alternative method, but will approve any method that the contractor is able to achieve the proper results. Once the initial layer is placed, equipment including a paving machine are able to be utilized. Common practice in the industry is to back-dump onto the geotextile, insuring the truck does not drive directly on the fabric. A tracked bulldozer can then be used to spread the aggregate over the geotextile. Aggregate conveyors are another option to spread the initial layer onto the geotextile.

6. Section 32 12 17 - Hot Mix Bituminous Pavement - This section states that the material shall be NDDOT Class 29, but the values in Tables II and III are not consistent with NDDOT specifications. Please clarify.

See revised section.

7. Section 32 12 17 - Hot Mix Bituminous Pavement - Section 3.5.2.3 states that four samples shall be prepared for each 100 tons of mixture placed. Is this correct? It does not correlate with the other testing frequencies and is far higher than industry standards.

Due to the size of the project this sample size is correct for what the government wants.

8. Plan Sheet C-104 - This plan sheet show a Jointing Plan for Bid Option No. 2. I did not see any place on the Offer Schedule for Bid Option 2. Please clarify.

See Revised Drawings Sheet 8.

9. Plan Sheet C-105 - Detail 3 shows Sawcut and Sealing of joints. Please provide a detail of the desired joint seal.

No detail necessary, please see section 32 01 19, paragraph 3.5.2 for details on proper installation of joint seal.

10. Is the excess topsoil to remain in the stockpile area and be seeded or does it need to be disposed of off-site upon completion?

See Revised Drawings Sheet 5.

11. On spec section 32 13 13.06 - Portland Cement Concrete Pavement for Roads and Site Facilities.

Paragraph 1.5.2 lists NRMCA and ACI certifications required unless waived by the Contracting Officer. Can these be waived on this project?

Subject to approval by contracting officer.

12. Paragraph 3.5.1 says that transverse rotating tube or pipe screeds will not be permitted unless approved by the contracting officer. Can these be approved for this project?

See revised section.
