43 AMOG Conference Room A/V Upgrade

Questions and Responses

Q1) How many video cards are input cards and how many are output, and what type of inputs and outputs do they need to be?

R1) There will be 4 monitors setup in a video wall style with the ability to utilize them as a whole or individually. Also a HDMI input at the podium.

Q2) Are there HDMI inputs throughout the room for content sharing and where are they (wall/podium etc?)

R2) No, there should be only one HDMI input exposed at the podium

Q3) What is the high definition scaler for?

R3) To upscale or downscale video resolution.

Q4) What is the 16 HDMI w 16 stereo analog audio output card for and what device is that getting installed in?

R4) For the ceiling mounted speakers but the amount can vary depending on the vendor design.

Q5) Why are there Qty5 50’ fiber optic HDMI cables and what are they being connected to?

R5) The video wall, but the length can vary depending on the vendor design.

Q6) What size touch panel do they want and does it need to be wired or wireless?

R6) 10 inch wired

Q7) Is the VTC system dual classification?

R7) At the moment no but would like the ability to dual class in the future.

Q8) If 70” monitors are not available are 65” or 75” monitors preferred?

R8) The 70” monitors were removed from the requirement. A 2x2 video wall that is floor mounted, utilizing 55 inch thin bezel monitors was added to the requirement.

Q9) This solicitation specifies one VTC codec, which implies a single classification in the room.

It also specifies 5 x 50’ Fiber Optic HDMI Long Distance cable. Fiber isolation is not required with a single classification: Why the fiber is needed? What devices are to be connected with the 5 fiber cables with HDMI transmitters and receivers?

R9) The monitors.

Q10) A quantity 1 of Audio Amplifier and microphones is also specified: How many microphones? Where are they to be located? What is the power requirement for the amp? (How many speakers and what type?)

R10) The microphone(s) should be ceiling mounted. As far as the speakers go, there are currently 8 PA style ceiling mounted speakers. The new requirement should replace the existing speakers.

Q11) What are the specifications for the 18 video cards for the 32x32 switcher? (Signal type and resolution)

R11) The video card requirement will be dependent on the number of displays they choose for their design.

Q12) No rack is specified. Is there an existing rack?

R12) A podium and rack has been added as a requirement, the rack will be installed inside the podium.

Q13) The materials you provided for me to render a bid contain no product specification data or a block diagram that reflects the system interconnectivity. The quantity of VTC units is shown as 1 but in most jobs where there is a secure and non secure VTC separate units are used for each security class of VTC as in Building 900. Please advise.

R13) No, this is a single class setup.
