STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Base Tree Removal and Trimming

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, supervision, and equipment to remove trees at the locations indicated below. All work shall conform to specifications outlined in this SOW.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. All work shall be performed during the hours of operation from 0700-1800 Monday through

Saturday, excluding federal holidays. All debris will be removed by the contractor and grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and streets will be kept in a neat/orderly condition.

2. Prior to tree removal, contractor will receive an Environmental Safety brief and any issue that may arise from the instruction of the brief will be reported immediately to the project

POC.

3. Contractor is responsible for any damage done to the grounds, such as ruts in grass or damage to structures. Damages will be repaired before completion of work.

4. The contractor shall challenge any requirements in the SOW which are specifically in violation of the governing code. It is the contractor’s responsibility to comply with the local laws, codes, and regulations in the performance of the requirements of the SOW.

5. The contractor shall conduct a site visit to accurately provide quotes and to verify all trees measurement and any other requirements before the start of work.

6. All trees identified as removal will stump grinded.

7. Trees identified as removal (stump grind) within a non-irrigated lawn shall be grinded down

8 inches below the grounds surface and back filled with dirt and compacted to match existing ground grade. Trees identified for stump grind within an irrigated lawn shall be grinded down 8 inches below the grounds surface and back filled with dirt and lay sod to match existing ground grade.

8. Trees identified as trim shall be trimmed 8 feet up and around from the ground and 14 feet from any road. Trees that touch a building must be trimmed 3 feet clearance from the building. Tree #18 within the PowerPoint slide show has 10 large trees to be trimmed 20 feet up from the edge of the road.

9. Palm trees shall be trimmed up to the first 90 degree limb, leaving no drooping limbs.

10. All stumps shall be grinded down 8 inches below the surface of the ground.

11. Wood chips shall be hauled off site that are in the interior of the base. Wood chips at the

Union Creek location which is located near the TACAMO area. There is no physical address for this location. During the site visit the location will be revealed. Wood chips at this location will be spread out not leaving mounds of wood chips.

12. Materials storage and clean up. Clean up and removal of all debris shall be accomplished at the end of each day’s work.

13. Working conditions: Contractor shall perform work in such a manner as to cause minimum interference to facility and surrounding areas utilities:

14. Approved staging area for parking vehicles overnight shall be in the parking lot directly west of fuel tanks on Hangar Ave.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

All work must be completed within sixty days (60) days after contract start date.
