Section C: Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source or Brand Name

The Americon workstation is currently being used at the 60 AMWs primary C2 facility. The innovative design of the Americon workstation is what makes the workstations unique. The workstation includes multiple quality of life features for C2 controllers providing much needed desk space to conduct simultaneous operations and work emergency management situations, while acting as the Wing Commander C2 node. The workstations come with pole control arms and laptop drawers. Both features will keep monitors and computers off the workstations. The workstations also come with storage shelves, this helps keep all necessary C2 products and processes within arms reach. Finally, the hydraulic lift system provides C2 controllers with the option of standing or sitting. The current Americon workstations being utilized at the primary facility were installed over 10 years ago, there have never been any problems or mechanical issues.

Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition

Market research conducted through the vendor catalogs provided by the Air Force Installation Contracting Agency website and the internet did not reveal any alternate sources capable of meeting this requirement. The Americon workstations functionality and durability have proven to outlast the demands of 24/7 365 day operations of the Command Post. Local market research indicates that Americon workstations are the only workstations that will satisfy the needs of the Command Post. A sources sought was posted to FBO on 29 July 2018. Three responses were received. Two responses were from vendors offering the Americon brand product.

The third vendor stated that while they could provide height adjustable desks they did not have anything

Continual market research will be conducted to determine if there are any other sources capable of meeting this requirement.

Section F: Contracting Officer's Determination

I have determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that the circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available.
