In-Car Video System Questions and Answers
Q: Is a quote for an on-site server required or will existing servers be utilized for video data storage?
A: Yes, a quote for an on-site server is required for Bldg 1978 on the Weapons Station and Bldg 254 on the Air Base.
Q: If a server quote is required, may I ask the following questions in order to provide a more accurate quote:
• On average, how many vehicles with the In-Car Video Systems will be deployed during each shift? There will be six (6) vehicles on the Air Base and there will be six (6) vehicles on the Weapons Station.
• How many shifts are there per day? There are three (3) shifts per day on the Weapon Station and there are three (3) shifts per day on the Air Base.
• How many hours is a shift? Eight (8) hours Tuesday – Friday and Twelve (12) hours Saturday – Monday.
• How many hours of video do you estimate will be recorded with each In-Car Video System during a shift? I estimate no more than four (4) hours per in-car video system.
• Is there a minimum retention policy for recorded video (in days or years)? The server shall provide 18 months of date storage.
Q: Is a Standard Definition (SD) or High Definition (HD) In-Car Video System preferred? High Definition (HD)
Q: Could you please tell me if this is a new requirement, or if there is a current or previous contractor who has performed similar services? If available, can you please send along the incumbent contract or task order number?
A: This is a new requirement.
Q: Can you please provide the Make/Model/Year of the 12 vehicles to install? Are they all the same?
A: Currently, we have the following vehicles that we would like the video recording systems installed in;
2017 Ford Taurus (11 vehicles) 2017 Ford F150 (1 vehicle)
Q: What is the current capability of the wireless network of the building that will house the “Home Station Storage” computer? Will there need to be additional wireless LAN repeaters installed on the outside of the building to allow for wireless offload from vehicles?
A: At this time, Bldg 1978 on the Weapons Station and Bldg 254 on the Air Base do not wireless connectivity capability. The unit is in the process of correcting this discrepancy
Q: Regarding infrared recording capability on the front-facing camera, we are able to fulfill the requirement for automatic switching from day recording to infrared, but while in infrared if there is a burst of light (i.e. headlight, streetlight, etc.) there could be some degradation of quality while the camera is trying to sort between day/infrared. We suggest utilizing an automatic filtering between day and night recording (low-light recording) with a manual option to select infrared in circumstances of little to no light present, allowing for high quality recording in any light situation. May we quote this optimal solution in place of automatic switching to infrared?
A: Yes.
Q: We would like to request an extension to allow sufficient time to analyze all the requirements, work with our equipment and service partners, and put together a compliant solution. Would the Government please provide a week extension of the due date?
A: Solicitation has been extended to March 6, 2019 12:00 PM EST

• If yes, what make & model?
A: No
Q: Do you currently have an unlimited 4G/LTE Data Plan
• Is your data plan throttled?
A: No
Q: Do you currently have Wireless Access Points (WAPs) available for WiFi offloading?
A: No
Q: Are there MDTs currently installed, or being used, within the vehicles?
• If yes: Do the MDTs run Windows 7 or 10?
