Q & A Session Sidewalks at Parade Field

1. Confirm the side walk will not include laterals from sidewalk to the signs describing the airplane types.

No, laterals from sign to sidewalk.

2. Confirm that excess soil hauled off from site needs to be tested for contaminants.

Yes, soil needs to be tested when hauling off base with government manifest.

3. Confirm that it is unlikely that the soils in this area of post will contain contaminants?

Soil unknown must be tested and hauled off base.

4. Confirm that the proposed new sidewalk does not have to be curved like the existing one. It is preferred that it be straight.

Yes, sidewalks shall be straight.

5. Confirm that the proposed new sidewalk will not conflict with the lawn sprinkler system if it is kept as close as possible to the existing sidewalk. There is no lawn sprinkler system on the outside of the perimeter formed by the existing sidewalk.

6. Bids are due on 17th September, 2015, at 1.00 pm.

Please refer to Box 13A.

7. Work will be allowed on Saturday and Sunday.

Yes, the contractor may be allowed to schedule work on Saturday and Sunday. However, the contractor cannot work on Thursday and Friday. Due to the high visibility and transit from visitors, the work area and laydown must be clean at all time.

8. Confirm that the sidewalk dimensions will change per amendment to be issued – length, width and concrete depth.

Please see revised Appendix C (24 Aug 15) issued in Amendment 02 for updated dimensions/specifications.

9. Confirm that orange security fencing will not be allowed to cordon off the work area during Thursdays and Fridays. A chain link temporary fence will be required.

Please see SOW 11.1.5, 11.1.12, 15.1, 20.1, 22.2, 22.3, 22.7, 22.9; accordingly, it shall have a 6 foot chain-link fence and brown mesh screen on fence pulled taut.

10. Confirm that the staging area will be situated in the field adjacent to the parade ground.

Two possible locations for this project and could change at any time before NTP construction -please see attachment (Locations of laydown area).
