SUBJECT: Amendment 1 to solicitation FA3020-16-R-0003, Exhaust Hood Cleaning

1. Please incorporate the following changes to the above referenced solicitation:

a. Attached are the Governments’ responses to contractor’s questions.

b. The proposal due date will remain unchanged: 29 August 2016, 3:00 PM CST.

2. Sign and submit attachment 2. Acknowledgement of Receipt with final proposal.

3. If this office has not confirmed receipt of your email within 1 business day, please call

Samuel Bolton at 940-676-5190 or the undersigned at 940-676-5189 to confirm receipt.

4. Question cutoff date remains unchanged: No later than 12:00 PM CST on 19 August 2016.

1. Is there a current contract? If there is a current contract, what was the previous award amount including option years?

a. Current contract number is FA3020-15-P-0009. Prices and former contractor information can be found at Federal Procurement Data System - Next Generation

2. What is the current contract number?

a. See answer at 2a above.

3. Are there any known leaks in the ductwork?

a. There are no known leaks in the ductwork.

4. Will an additional security pass be required for work performed at the Childhood

Development Center?

a. If services are conducted at the CDC when no children are present no additional passes or checks are required. However, if children are present when services are being performed, extensive additional security background checks are required (Installation Records Check, State Criminal History Repository, National Agency Check with Inquires, Finger prints, and a signed statement by the employee indicated whether or not they have been arrested or convicted of any crime involving children, drugs or alcohol).

5. Can proposals be mailed to the following address?

a. Per the terms of the combined solicitation/synopsis/RFQ, submission of offers to the above address is acceptable.

6. Are the [water wash hood] systems all in operating order as designed by the manufacturer or are they being used as an exhaust system only?

a. They are being used as an exhaust system only (This response does not address the fire suppression system).

7. Are the [water wash hood] systems currently under a servicing contract for the testing of the electronic system and refilling of the cleaning liquid?

a. No (this portion of the system has been disabled--- this response is addressing the self-cleaning portion not the electrical of the exhaust hoods)

8. Is there an access panel within 18 inches of the damper?

a. Some exhaust hood systems will require the use of access panels. Government will be responsible for installing access panels as required (Per PWS para 1.1).

9. Are there any areas that will require a ladder exceeding 20 feet?

a. Yes (Bldg 318 identified as needing a lift).

10. Are there adequate access panels for cleaning each exhaust system that has extended duct work?

a. Some exhaust hood systems will require the use of access panels. Government will be responsible for installing access panels as required (per PWS para 1.1).

11. Are there any exhaust ducts that exceed 50 feet?

a. No. (See Price Exhibit).

12. Are grease traps available at each site, where applicable, for discarding grease that is collected from the exhaust system?

a. Sites with grease traps are identified in the price exhibit. Not all sites possess grease traps.

Where grease traps are available they may be used for disposal of waste water (per PWS para

1.1.3).

13. Is the completion of an SF 1449 necessary for submission of quote?

a. No. This is a combined solicitation/synopsis in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6. Per

12.603(b), “When using the combined synopsis/solicitation procedure, the SF 1449 is not used for issuing the solicitation”. Please see the RFQ to include clause 52.212-1 and addendums for complete instructions for submission of quotes.

14. As long as demonstrable proof of progress is available for IKECA certification will there be any problem with the acceptance of a bid?

a. Per the Performance Work Statement and combined synopsis/synopsis RFQ, contractors must be in possession of IKECA certification or comparable at time of bid submission (per

PWS 1).
