About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to solicitation number FA301623U0292 for furniture in Building 2000 Room 321 for the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command. The questions clarify specifications for laminate and metal pedestals, storage cabinets, lateral file cabinets, and shelving to be provided in rooms 321D and 321E. Dimensions of 24" depth for storage cabinets and 14" depth for shelving are approved as substitutes from the original specifications. The existing furniture will be moved but not disposed of. In room 321E, shrinking the workstation from 7'x7' to 7'x6' would make it ADA compliant but it can be shrunk in the other direction instead. In room 321D, the workstation cannot block the doorway as shown in the original statement of work, and an updated drawing will be provided with a compliant configuration.

Questions for FA301623U0292 ‐ B2000 Rm 321 Furniture

1. Room 321E, A & B ‐ call for a laminate box/box/file mobile pedestal. Our manufacture only makes a laminate box/file mobile pedestal. Would this be okay to substitute? The only other option would be to change the pedestals to metal. Metal pedestals are okay

2. Room 321D ‐ Asks for a box/box/file mobile pedestal. Does this need to be laminate or is metal okay? Metal is okay

3. Our standard Laminate storage and lateral files cabinets are 24" deep. Is it okay to change the size of the following to 24"D:

2 Ea 18" Deep x 30" Long x 30" High laminate storage cabinets with doors and one shelf inside 2 Ea 18" Deep x 36" Long x 30" High laminate storage cabinets with doors and one shelf inside 1 Ea 18" Deep x 36" Long x 30" High laminate lateral file cabinet with two drawers

Yes 24" deep are okay

4. Our standard depth on laminate shelving is 14"d. Is it okay to change the following to 14"d to the closest height of 48":

3 Ea 18" Deep x 36 Wide x 48" High laminate shelving unit

Yes for shelving 14" is okay

5. Please advise if contractor is/will be responsible for the moving/disposal of existing furniture in all 4 offices.

No, the furniture will be moved not disposed of.

6. There is an issue in room 321E and 321D. 321E is not ADA compliant. If we shrink the station from a 7' x 7' to a 7'x 6' station it will be compliant. In 321D the workstation is in the doorway. We attached an option that would allow for us to clear the doorway. I was not sure if it would be okay to block the door.

The drawing in the SOW did not show the doorway blocked.

Please advise.

Room 321E if required please shrink the work station to make the room ADA compliant. HOWEVER it can it be shrunk the other direction.

Room 321D Door cannot be blocked, change is good.

Updated Drawings to follow.
