EGLIN AFB, FLORIDA

STATEMENT OF WORK v.3

Summary of Changes:

1. Quantity estimates were provided for items 1 and 7 under Section 1.3

2. A typo was corrected on item 2 under Section 1.3

3. Quantity estimate was provided for item number 9 under Section 1.3

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 GENERAL INTENTION:

The purpose of this section is to provide the Contractor with a Scope of Work (SOW) for the above mentioned project. The provisions of this section apply to this specific task order only, and all parties shall ensure that they, their personnel and subcontractors completely understand these provisions before developing the detailed SOW and commencing work. These provisions are for the purpose of general information only and are not intended to completely describe the regulations and restrictions that apply on Eglin AFB. The Contractors proposal shall be submitted via previously prescribed methods.

1.2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The project is located at Eglin AFB, 33rd Fighter Wing Area. The Contractor shall be required to furnish all materials, equipment, plant, labor and personnel necessary to manage and accomplish this task order in accordance with the contract requirements unless otherwise noted in this SOW.

Government reviews, coordination, testing, comments, and observation at any stage of contract performance shall not be construed as actual or constructive notice to the Government of workmanship defects.

1.3 SCOPE OF WORK:

Provide materials, labor, and equipment to repair 52 Aircraft Sunshades manufactured by Big Top Shelters (50 each 70’ x 70’ x 30.5’ shelters located on the AF parking apron and 2 each 71’ x 70’ x 25’ shelter located behind building 1332, Fuel Cell Maintenance Facility) as follows:

1. Apply a zinc-rich coating to all non-galvanized metal sections of the sunshade frame (approximately 200 linear feet per shelter) IAW coating manufacturer instructions. Clean and prep corroded areas IAW coating manufacturer instructions prior to application of coating.

2. Replace and properly tension 4 each ¼” x 108’ roof cables with 4 each cable clamps per shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

3. Replace and properly tension 8 each ¼” x 44’ roof cables with 4 each cable clamps per shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Replace and properly tension 2 each ¼” x 112’ cover cables per shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

5. Tension all nuts/bolts at truss connections, x-braces, etc. for each shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

6. Adjust all threaded rod tensioning and tension straps for each shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

7. Repair minor cuts and pin-holes (approximately 25 holes per shelter) in the shelter fabric for each shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

8. Torque anchor bolts for each shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Replace the cover fabric lacing (approximately 250 linear feet per shelter) for each shelter IAW manufacturer’s instructions.

10. Perform inspection of each shelter and provide proposed price list of replacement parts above and beyond those called for in the scope of this solicitation.

1.4 SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

a. Submit manufacturer’s data, color choices, application instructions and MSDSs to ensure compliance with government requirements a/o specifications.

b. Provide warranty, certificates of compliance plus maintenance/cleaning instructions, etc., as required.

c. The contactor shall perform all investigative services necessary to complete this project by all appropriate codes.

1.5 MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS AND MANUFACTURE OPTIONS:

Submittals required:

1. MSDS, product data, color choices, application instructions, etc. for zinc-rich coating

2. Manufacturer’s instructions for items 2-9 above in paragraph 1.3.

1.6 RECOMMENDED PERFORMANCE PERIOD:

Maintenance is expected to take 90 days from NTP to include: submittals, order materials, pre-con/pre-survey, mobilization, demolition, prep install, clean-up and final acceptance.
