1.0 PROJECT TITLE. Abrasive Blast Room System (Bead Blast Booth)

2.0 CURRENT SITUATION: The current system (Pauli system) is in need of replacement. System is 10’H x 10’W x 20L. Location within building the system sits in is a concrete floor/recessed 12” pit. The Government desire to obtain a similar-sized bead blast booth (length of new booth is negotiable) that will sit in same area; however, at floor level (which may or may not require filling in existing pit with concrete, to achieve floor-level base for new booth). Current booth provides large-scale paint removal. The purpose of the below-floor-level pit was to serve as a used-media reclamation point. System is currently power through breaker rated 480V/60A.

3.0 STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENT: The contractor shall provide the Government with the following:

3.1 Provide and install Abrasive Blast Room System, brand name or equal to Aerospace Facilities Group, Inc. system, which provides for the following:

3.1.1 Modular Blast Enclosure, interior lighting, equipment and personnel doors with appropriate safety mechanisms, dust collector system with appropriate access for servicing, proper ventilation, electronic filter system, blast/reclaim system, storage for clean media, all consumable and non-consumable parts/pieces, remote control system, electrical components

(panels, switches, starters, safety interlocks, conduit, etc), operator safety package, recovery floor system

3.1.2 Installation shall be turn-key, and result in complete and useable end-product, and shall include start-up/testing/etc, as well as any training necessary for the Government to operate independently.

3.2 Contractor shall state in proposal what requirements (if any) the Government would be responsible for, to ensure proposal viability to implement.

3.3 Contractor shall provide as separate pricing, the cost to extract and dispose of existing equipment. This may, or may not, become a part of contract; however, will not be listed as an “option” – determination whether to include this work as part of contract shall be made prior to award of contract.

4.0 All local, state and federal regulations applicable to the manufacturing and installation of this type of equipment, apply to this requirement (EPA, OSHA, etc), as well solicitation provisions and clauses.

5.0 The following will be required of all contractor (prime or sub) personnel who will require base access to perform services related to this requirement:

5.1 Base Access Clearance Process: completion and submission of Security Access Form, which is submitted for background check; clearance is required for base access approval (this is accomplished post-award).

5.2 Antiterrorism Training: See attachment related to antiterrorism training requirements (accomplished post-award).

6.0 Site Visit: while site visit is not required, it is highly encouraged, due to the requirements of this project.

Contractor’s who plan to bid on this project but not attend site visit, should note the following provision applicable to this solicitation: FAR 52.237-1, Site Visit.
