QUESTION 1:
The floor space for the radome booth is very narrow. To get everything to fit we have the spray booth walls shown against three of the facility walls.
We are not blocking the emergency exit. Is this acceptable per your code or do we need to see if we can discover another layout?
ANSWER 1:
I assume we are talking about the B670 system: That is acceptable as long as all the other requirement in section 3.1 are met.
QUESTION 2:
The ceiling height of the radome area is limiting as the hoist will consume about 2' with the beam, structure, lifting mechanisms, and the hook. Is it acceptable to assume we can create a 2' deep 4' x 4' concrete pit in the floor to flush mount the turn table? Our quote would assume that there is no utilities in the floor and it is basic 6-8" of concrete.
ANSWER 2:
I assume we are talking about the B670 system: That is acceptable. That is the best assumption for quoting purposes.
QUESTION 3:
We would like to make the layouts for the two large booths as realistic as possible, especially concerning where we might put the Master Electrical Cabinet, robot controller, portable HMI, etc. Could one of your engineers simply hand sketch a plan view of the two booths and show the man doors, large doors, windows, and possibly nearby walls if the booths are near a corner?
ANSWER 3:
I will do sketch and provide
QUESTION 4:
Should our quote include any costing on the CDRL’s? Or just break out cost per the RFQ instructions?
ANSWER 4:
Your CDRL's should not be separately priced, include them into your overall
Quote
Question 5:
On a job this large do you have a system for 'milestone' payments that you generally use?
Answer 5:
Generally, contracts are set up on a scheduled payment and the contractor gets paid as work is completed.
QUESTION 6:
The temperature and humidity requirements for the robotic spray booth called out in the Purchase Description Item 3.1.A.xii states "Programmable within the Range" for both temperature and humidity. Which means the booth must operate to the extremes of 60F at 50% RH, 60F at 80% RH, 80F at 50% RH and 80F at 80% RH. Or is the intent to design to the midpoint of 70F +/- 10F at 60% +/- 10% RH.
ANSWER 6: For the two spray modes, the booth temp and humidity must not travel out of the stated ranges. So if the midpoint is maintained that will be sufficient. For the Cure mode, it is desirable to have the ability to set the temp at the extremes.
QUESTION 7:
What type of utilities are available at the site for the robotic spray booth? Natural gas, electrical voltage, steam, chilled water?
ANSWER 7: : I am being told now that electricity, city water, and compressed air are the only utilities available.
QUESTION 8:
Where will the mechanical equipment for the spray booth be placed (makeup air unit and exhaust fan)?
ANSWER 8: On the roof of the operator control room, on the roof of the paint booth, or outside in the areas designated "space for Booth HVAC Equipment" in Appendix A of the PD.
QUESTION 9:
Is recirculation in the spray booth acceptable?
ANSWER 9: No
QUESTION 10:
What is the construction of the walls and ceiling in the area where the booth will be placed?
ANSWER 10: In the attached sketch, the leftmost wall is concrete block, the remaining walls and roof are of metal stud/beam construction with metal siding with fiberglass insulation.
