About this file

This document is a Notice of Intended Decision from the Citrus County School Board regarding Invitation to Bid (ITB) 2025-01 for Plumbing Services, to be awarded on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. The solicitation seeks a qualified plumbing contractor to provide district-wide plumbing services on an as-needed basis, with a contract period from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2026, and an option for three additional one-year renewals. The School Board intends to recommend Don's Plumbing of Citrus County, Inc. as the primary vendor and BG Buck, LLC dba Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Crystal River as the alternate vendor.

The bid tabulation reveals hourly labor rates for journeyman plumbers, apprentice plumbers, and helpers/laborers, with rates varying by time of day and vendor. Don's Plumbing offers the lowest straight-time rates at $65.00 for journeyman and apprentice plumbers and $13.00 for helpers. The bid includes provisions for a maximum 10% markup on materials, subcontractor services, and equipment rentals, with special considerations for disaster situations. Regular business hours are defined as Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with higher rates for overtime, weekends, and holidays. Four vendors submitted bids, with no non-responsive or no-bid submissions recorded.
